I tried searching the forums and it seems like no one has already talked about it.

On 26 February 1872 it rained frogs in Bologna and two things remained of this rain:
1) The saying in Bologna slang: "A piov rane" (it's raining frogs) to say that the situation in general is confused, that there is chaos
2) Some specimens of these frogs have remained in the museum of Museo di Palazzo Poggi in Bologna (personally I have not yet gone to visit it, but I plan to do so in the coming months)

Also in 1872 there was also a storm of fish, this time in Naples during an eruption of Vesuvius.

You can find all this here (right button click to translate):

(On this page it is written that this event is remembered in <<a poem by Giovanni Pascoli, entitled "The Frog" written in 1891 and part of the "Myricae" collection>>, but I can't find it in that book)
