Incest Is Best?

I read about these guys in this book (a sensitive, scientific, non-sensational book):

While the concept of twin performers is not new to the gay porn world, the Peters twins are notable both because of the extent of their popularity and the things they are willing to do with each other on camera.
“My brother is my boyfriend, and I am his boyfriend,” says one of the twins during a phone call from Prague (Elijah and Milo sound so much alike on the phone it is impossible to tell which one is speaking). “He is my lifeblood, and he is my only love.”

I didn't research this further, because it is far outside my sphere of interest, but I thought we should have them here for the record.

That shirt looks a bit rank .. you'll probably need to change that shirt ...

I just hope you're not talking about incest .. I'm not qualified to help you out if you are but if you are, I wish you massive love.

The incest is a given (you should have seen my dad!) but I was talking about the shirt. I've worn the same one for so long now that it has melded into my skin.

Thank you for the love, David (my dad, husband, brother, gosh it gets complicated!!) loves you back. But it's best probably to not get too involved. You don't want to end up in a Wes Craven film!

Or worse...:eek::eek:

A mother married her son and then her daughter, who just pleaded guilty to incest, officials say

Patricia and Misty Spann were married on March 26, 2016.

Court records say Patricia Spann had convinced Misty Spann that their marriage was legal — even though they’re biologically related. Patricia, 44, is Misty’s mother.

Both women were arrested and charged with incest in September 2016, six months after they got married. On Tuesday, Misty Spann, 26, pleaded guilty to incest.

Patricia Spann’s complicated relationship with her children drew scrutiny in August 2016, after a child welfare investigator found that she and Misty Spann, who were living in Duncan, Okla., may have been having an incestuous relationship.

Patricia Spann told the child welfare investigator with the state’s Department of Human Services that she had three children from a previous marriage: daughter Misty and two sons, according to an affidavit. Spann had long since lost custody of her children, who were adopted by their paternal grandmother. She had no contact with any of her children until a few years ago, when she and Misty Spann reunited and “hit it off,” she told the investigator, the affidavit said.

If you want an example of how inbreeding damages a community you need to look at rural Turkey where cousin marriage is super common. The place is littered with rare and horrific conditions, such as girls who get brain damage from eating meat. I worked with a Turkish woman doctor who accidentally married a man from the "next village" despite having migrated to another country. They produced two children, both of whom had rare and potentially lethal conditions, and she confided to me that this was a common problem in the Turkish community and showed me a sheaf of cases she had treated that supported the claim.

I am pretty certain that a single generation of inbreeding doesn't produce this effect. There is no science to support such a claim. On the other hand, when cousin kissing has been common practice for loads of generations, things get decidedly horrific.

Also, what about the whole circular chromosome problem? I was under the impression that inbreeding caused chromosomes to become increasingly O shaped, resulting in horrible birth defects over a series of generations, with each generation more likely than the last to produce defects.

Of course historically, some of the most prolific inbreeders were the Egyptian pharaohs. Now you get some bizarre conditions occurring like Akenaten and Nefertiti's Marfan Syndrome, but most of the rest of them were okay? I mean it is all a bit chinless Habsburg syndrome really.

Inbreeding causes all kinds of "puppy mill" genetic horrors, there's good reason why they have consanguinity laws.

Bethesda, in North Wales, allegedly had the highest rate of incest in Western Europe until 1973.

They were still allegedly at it in the later seventies: Purple Motors had a few routes where the main offenders' residences were routinely pointed out as we rode past. A bit like Hollywood Babylon with fewer stars, more slate and much more rain! :glum:

When I was at Bangor University in the mid to late 80s, certain families from Bethesda would shamble into town occasionally. It was fairly obvious that they were, er, close-knit.

Around 2010, me and the wife stayed in Gumbet in Turkey, our hotel was a very small family owned and run business - an absolutely lovely little place and the staff were fantastic, very friendly-honest people, there was the owner, his cousin and nephew (all names withheld - although i can remember them) however, the one thing they ALL had in common was - without being offensive - were eyes severely pointing in different directions.
At the time i never thought any more of this,BUT if the above is true, this may explain why? (by the way, i have photos of me and the wife with them so proof can be supplied if needed)
i actually feel quite mean by posting this, because they were all really nice people and i dont want to sound dismissive of their hospitality

Just because someone is inbred, doesn't mean they are necessarily a bad person, merely that their genetic heritage may be compromised.

But they do tend to be more narrow-minded, insular, fear the outsider. Just look at Norfolk.

Ramon: You don't think that might be cause rather than effect?

Could be a case of nominative determinism?
Norðfolc
"Folk from the North, now living in the south, and having created their own community over centuries".

Yes, both county and island do seem to be quite-similar in style. And both may be described as being very insular in their own ways, irrespective of geography.

And whatever's "Narmal fur Narfolk" will differ from both London and Canberra (I wonder to what extent the isolated Norfolkers, island & county, would be attracted to one-another? Perhaps they should operate an exchange citizen programme...perhaps they do.

Cromer in Norfolk is pretty remote, no one gets lost on a road and ends up in Cromer. Since living here, I've noticed just how rude and arrogant some of the Londoners who come here can be, both to service industry staff (which makes up a sizeable percentage of jobs here) and locals just minding their own business .... every year sees a new wave of Londoners arriving and trying to change the town to make it more like London only to leave a year later when they realise that the Cromer folk like the town as it is thank you very much. This pattern has been repeating since the 1880's, there's even mention of events in local history books I've read: some London lads giving a local lad a sound thrashing for being "impudent", a young Winston Churchill being rude to his nanny with a local shop owner leaving his shop to give Winston a firm telling off (there's even bronze embossed letters on the floor of the promenade reading "I'm not enjoying myself very much" quoted to Churchill with the date he said it so the locals do have a sense of humour) ... a local bloke I know once had a Londoner by the throat over his van bonnet because he (the Londoner) tried to tell him where he could park his van and was verbally aggressive about the matter ... that's the main thing I've noticed here, it's almost as if the rich visitors wish the locals would piss off for their yearly visits because the locals are bringing the tone of the place down or something ... verbal aggression and scowling looks are the main types of abuse to locals.

A Costa Coffee has recently been green lit to open in Cromer. It isn't the locals that are objecting to this though, they're glad of the employment opportunity ... it's the outsiders who've settled here making petitions etc, same thing for a cafe that's being built in Suffield Park, a ten minute walk from Cromer ... I even received harassment from a yuppie woman because I filmed the meeting in a public park who also turned up at my home the next day to try and intimidate me into deleting the footage. I'd already called the police at that point so didn't experience anymore bother from her. Geordies, Mancs, Scotts, Brummies, South Africans, Polish etc all settle well here .. it's only ever the Londoners that cause problems.

You do get predominant facial characteristics here though the only direct incest related 'things' I've experienced were a girl I used to work with who admitted that there had been incest on her Dad's side of the family "But I don't have anything to do with him these days" and a social worker I met who told me about a family he used to visit who were all shagging each other. Nice.

I dunno, my family are still scandalised about my marrying a Congleton man. I told them, at least he's not from Macc!
(That's a local joke. Congleton and Macclesfield are ancient rivals and have awful things to say about each other.)

The Whitehead name is centred on the Saddleworth and Todmorden area - a window area! That part of my oddity comes from there!

We used to have documents, which I saw, which led back to the times when our kin made their mark with a cross. Just the 1840s - when we descended from those trees (or saucers).

A century or more back, practically everyone up there was named Whitehead! One Captain Whitehead is said to have sown more than his usual share of wild oats. His name is likely to be have been their only patrimony.

At some point, Whiteheads descended from their spiritual home and had intercourse with the human race. Just in time to avoid webbed-feet, six fingers and banjo-face! :yay:

Of course, I turned purple - but that story is for another day. :wink2:

Maximus otter,

Cryer isn't talking about the situation in Keighley, she is referring to the situation in the UK as a whole. Her personal experience is in Keighley though.

Dan from Sydney responded with the following gem..

..The statement that Ann Cryer wants the practice "outlawed" suggests to me that Cryer is a crass politician with little understanding of her role within the community...

I can tell you Dan, that Mrs Cryer was very attuned to the goings on of the Asian community in Keighley. And is a long way from being a crass politician.

I was once in a relationship with a girl from Iran. I saw a photo of her parents and remarked on how they both shared a physical trait. I wish I hadn't. She was from Tehran, not even somewhere rural.
