... and the weather is perfect for it with dark and moody skies today ..

I've been on this walk with the Mrs before, it's pretty atmospheric in our coastal Victorian town and shouldn't cost much more than a fiver for anyone who can get there .. in the dark .. in the night ..

The tour guide is going to be Al who's been helping me and vice versa working on a couple of WW2 pillboxes in Cromer .. the last chap told the ghost stories and local folklore with flourish, the highlight for me was seeing the Neo Gothic Cromer Hall, I'd walked past it a few times and it looks like Peter Cushing is about to dart past you at any moment .. the hall's still owned by the same family who also own Cromer Zoo btw but I've never been inside ..

Must admit I’m Jealous swifty. I’ve never been to Cromer, but in Pater Haining’s “the super natural coast“ he touches on Cromer a few times - reckons Conan Doyle got the idea for hound of the Baskervills there, seems like an interesting place.
Enjoy

Conan Doyle was a dinner guest at Cromer Hall when he heard about the legend of Black Shuck, the phantom black 'devil' dog and the Cabell family's connections to it (a murdered wife and a dog that bit the husband's throat out at the scene .. although death records show she lived longer than that so it's bullshit) .. afterwards, he wrote hound of the baskervills in the top story room of a local pub that's now called Craftburger .. you'll have to twiddle around in this link to 360 zoom about to see the upper story windows.
