Strange Crimes

He must have had a strong throw. A Latvian national who threw a fork that got stuck into the side of a synagogue security guard's head has received a 14-month sentence... He then pulled a silver kitchen fork out of his bag and threw it at the security guard.l

Did anyone ever see that movie Mystery Men? Romanov is clearly the Blue Raja. Cutlery is pretty useless for throwing unless you are a damn superhero.

This fast-talking improvisational impresario would seem to have good prospects for success - once he gets out of jail ...

The victim, however, will probably never hear the end of this ...

Authorities: Unsuspecting victim gives burglar a car ride
Authorities in Maine say a burglar had a bite to eat, watched TV and even got a car ride from his unsuspecting victim.

The York County sheriff’s office said 35-year-old Derek Tarbox broke into a Waterboro home Sunday afternoon, took a shower, got dressed in the homeowner’s clothing and was watching television when the homeowner arrived. The intruder said he mistakenly thought the house belonged to a friend and asked for a ride home.

The homeowner told authorities that seemed plausible, so he drove him to a house in Hollis, which actually belonged to Tarbox’s relatives. The victim later realized his home had been ransacked. ...

Kentucky man arrested after throwing a Christmas ham at a woman:

https://www.ctvnews.ca/world/kentucky-man-charged-with-throwing-christmas-ham-at-woman-1.4231288

I stayed with my sister for a few days last week and this item scrolled across the screen one evening when we were watching the television news. My sister has been a vegetarian for over a year but even when she was a carnivore she never ate pork. She particularly detested ham for some reason. She didn't express surprise at this story but instead snorted that the only good use for a ham was as a projectile.

man arrested after throwing a Christmas ham at a woman:

Opportunistic Rage Syndrome? He had not quite reached the boil in Halloween period or the pumpkin may have been his weapon of choice.

Ham is dangerously-inclined to become a hate-crime these days. It was advocated by an old chum as a means of repelling hijackers.

Canned, in his case. He usually was.

I'm awaiting first news of carol-singers impaled on conifers. I've hidden all mine! :pipe:

That'll teach the gregarious gits!

A man initially suspected of a brazen child abduction attempt was actually trying to scare his neighbours because they were apparently too sociable, a Perth court has been told.

Anandkumar Sivapragasam has faced Perth Magistrates Court in relation to the incident in Forrestfield, in which a man wearing a motorcycle helmet was originally accused of posing as a postman and trying to snatch an eight-year-old girl in front of her grandmother. Police revealed earlier this week the 37-year-old had been charged with several offences including assault and going armed to cause fear.

On December 19, Mr Sivapragasam allegedly drove a borrowed car with its number plate obscured to his neighbours' home. A 67-year-old woman, two girls aged eight and six and a four-year-old boy were home at the time. A police prosecutor told the Court Mr Sivapragasam allegedly pushed his way into the unit, wearing a motorcycle helmet with its visor down to conceal his face. The man allegedly pressed a toy gun against the woman's face and pushed her, before trying to put tape over her mouth using a dispenser and cutting her cheek in the process.

The prosecutor told the court Mr Sivapragasam had said he "wanted to scare the family into keeping to themselves more", as they were "engaging with too many people in the units".

A slippery customer.

This arrest was a little fruity.

A man in Des Moines, Iowa, was jailed on Monday after police said he assaulted a convenience store clerk with a banana.
Rogelio Tapia, 26, got into a dispute with an unnamed person at a QuikTrip Monday morning, according to local station KCCI-TV.

When a store clerk tried to intervene, witnesses said Tapia chased the clerk around the store, throwing a banana and other items at her, Patch Des Moines reported. The disturbance caused about $1,000 in damage to the store, police said.

Tapia was charged with assault on persons in certain occupations, simple assault, interference with official acts and third-degree criminal mischief. Jail records show he was later released.

I guess the patient was a bit cross.

A GP was shot in the stomach with a crossbow bolt by a patient, who said: "You killed my father and I am going to kill you," a jury heard.

Dr Gary Griffith was writing up notes at his Watford surgery in July last year when Mark Waterfall walked in and fired, St Albans Crown Court heard. Mr Waterfall, 46, of South Oxhey, denies attempted murder. Four days earlier, his father, Terrence, had died in hospital after being seen by the GP, the court heard. Prosecutor Martin Mulgrew told the jury Mr Waterfall had been a patient of Dr Griffiths for 10 years and and in the days before the attack developed a "festering hatred" for him.

'I'd wear ur fascia': Woman sent man 159K texts after online date, police say

Jacqueline Ades sent a man she met on a dating site more than 159,000 text messages — some of which were threatening — over the course of nearly 10 months, according to police documents obtained via a public records request.

636614682326857122-Jacqueline-Ades.jpg

Police say Ades began threatening the man after Paradise Valley officers escorted her off his property in July 2017. One text read: "I'd wear ur fascia n the top of ur skull n ur hands n feet," referring to the connective tissue that encloses muscles and organs. And another said: "I'd make sushi outta ur kidneys n chopsticks outta ur hand bones."

Police reports say Ades and the man communicated through the [dating] site for a few days before going on a single date. The records don't specify when the date occurred.

The man told police that Ades continued to text him after the date, despite telling her he didn't want to see or hear from her again. He later called the police when he found Ades parked outside his house in July 2017.

Police say Ades' texts to the man became threatening shortly thereafter.

Ades' alleged victim was out of the country when he called police in April 2018 to report that surveillance video showed her inside his home.

Paradise Valley police officers found Ades at the house, taking a bath. Blurred body-camera footage shows officers handcuffing and arresting Ades after locating some of her discarded clothes.

As she was arrested, Ades says, "Why is this happening to me?"

When an officer asked what she was doing there, Ades gave an answer that only raised more questions.

"I guess that I made up a whole scenario in my head where I live here, so I came here and pretended that's what was happening," Ades told the officer.

When the officer asked her to clarify what she meant, Ades began referencing scientific equations.

In a remark that must surely qualify for the podium in the Understatement Olympics:

"Arrest records completed by officers listed Ades as showing signs of mental illness."

I can only hope there's an eventual explanation for what this bank robber wannabe was trying to accomplish ...

Bank robbery suspect held after stripping, awaiting arrest
Authorities are holding a man they say tried to rob a San Diego County bank, then told frightened customers to call 911, stripped to his underwear and awaited arrest.

Thirty-five-year-old Clint Gray was arrested Thursday at a Wells Fargo branch in Solana Beach. ...

Derek Stevenson tells the San Diego Union-Tribune that he was one of three customers inside the bank when the man entered shortly after the branch opened, shouted that it was a robbery and ordered everyone to the ground.

As staff and customers complied, the man told people to call 911, began stripping to his underwear, then sat in a chair near the front door until deputies arrived.

Authorities say the robber had no weapon and no cash was taken.

It simply sounds as if he wanted to be arrested, with the stripping being to make it clear that he was unarmed. It reminds me of the movie Law Abiding Citizen.

Bizarre video footage shows a prowler spending three hours licking the doorbell of a stranger’s home.

Panties thieves will be charged with attempted murder - Nigerian Police warn

I’d put a snowflake warning on that post, Swifty, before you explode some heads...

“Meanwhile, [Zonal Police PRO] Dolapo Badmus had taken to her Instagram handle to call out feminists who feel they are equal to any man including their husbands. According to Badmus, women should learn to give their husbands the upper hand. She added that, these men must be allowed to take major decisions in the home in order to avoid domestic violence cases.”

Police: Woman breaks into police station, wanted to date cop
Police say a woman smashed her way into a closed Pennsylvania police station looking for an officer she’d been sexually harassing ever since he arrested her.

Police say 27-year-old Ashley Keister, of Nanticoke, used a large cigarette butt receptacle to smash glass doors into the West Wyoming police building around 12:45 a.m. Monday. Once inside, she started rummaging through filing cabinets.

West Wyoming Police Chief Curtis Nocera says Keister had been under investigation for harassing an officer who arrested her last year. He says she sent sexually harassing messages on social media and would call 911 just to talk to him.

The break-in was caught on surveillance cameras. ...

Imho this wasn't just Art and he couldn't have been unaware that his actions would cause alarm. H's lucky not to have faced more serious charges.

A student who left a piece of artwork on a bridge, sparking a major bomb scare, has been sentenced to 90 hours of community service.

Thomas Ellison, 33, of Fenham, Newcastle, placed the lunchbox containing wires, a circuit board and a doll on the city's High Level Bridge. A member of the public called the police, leading to parts of the city centre being sealed off. He pleaded guilty to causing a public nuisance but claimed it was "art".

More than just a cranky old man, his actions could have resulted in deaths.

A Czech pensioner has been jailed for four years for terrorism offences which he tried to stage as jihadist attacks.

Jaromir Balda, 71, felled trees to block railway lines and left messages at the scene proclaiming "Allahu Akbar" - or "God is great" in Arabic. Two passenger trains hit the trees, but nobody was injured. On top of his conviction, the court ordered psychiatric treatment for the far-right sympathiser. He said he hoped to spread fear of Muslim migrants.

Its not just the use of the sword, he also wanted to start a race war.

NEW YORK (AP) — A white supremacist pleaded guilty Wednesday to killing a black man with a sword as part of an attack that authorities said was intended to incite a race war in the United States.

James Jackson admitted to fatally stabbing 66-year-old Timothy Caughman in March 2017 after stalking a number of black men in New York City.
Jackson, who is white, told police he traveled from Baltimore to carry out the attack because New York is the media capital of the world. He said the slaying was intended to be practice for further assaults on black people. Jackson, 30, faces life in prison without parole when he is sentenced Feb. 13 after pleading guilty to six counts, including murder and a hate crime charge.
