Strange Crimes

Bit bizarre.

Spanish police have arrested three people, including a well known pornographic actor, in connection with the death of a photographer who is thought to have died after inhaling toad venom during a shamanic ceremony.

The Guardia Civil did not name those detained, but the fatal ceremony, which took place in the Valencian town of Enguera in July 2019, allegedly involved the Spanish porn actor Nacho Vidal, and resulted in the death of a fashion photographer, José Luis Abad.

In a statement, the force said that two men and a woman aged from 37 to 50 had been arrested on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter and violating public health laws.

“Officers began the investigation after the death of a person during a mystical ritual involving the inhalation of vapours from the venom of the bufo alvarius toad,” the statement said.

A man has been arrested in Thailand for allegedly stealing his neighbours shoes in order to have sex with them. Theerapat Klaiya, 24, had a fetish for flip-flops and was found with a staggering 126 pairs that he had pinched from locals in Nonthaburi, central Thailand, police said.

Officers identified Klaiya using footage from CCTV set up outside his latest alleged victim’s home. When they searched the man’s home, they found his sprawling collection of shoes that he claimed he had been collecting for more than two years.

Another sickening case.

A couple in Pakistan accused of torturing their seven-year-old maid to death will be held in jail for two weeks while police arrange a polygraph.

Hospital staff in Rawalpindi alerted police at the end of May after the couple brought the injured girl, Zahra, for treatment. She died a day later. It is illegal to employ anyone under 15 in Pakistan but it remains common. The case has prompted anger and made national headlines. The accused couple have not commented publicly.

Pakistan's human rights minister promised to amend the laws to curb the practice of employing child workers. Critics say too little has been done to enforce laws already in place.

Zahra's grandfather Syed Fazal Hussain Shah told the BBC that a distant relative who had been working at Siddique's house as a cook for some years got Zahra the job with the couple, about five months ago.

"He said they will educate her, something that we couldn't afford. So we decided to send her," he said.

Slavery. And now murder. Seems to be really common in Pakistan.

Bit of a difference between a heart attack and being stabbed in the head.

A judge who was said to have died of a heart attack while overseeing a corruption trial involving the president's chief of staff in the Democratic Republic of Congo actually died of stab wounds to the head, the justice minister has revealed.

Celestin Tunda Ya Kasende said a murder investigation had now been launched. In May, police said Judge Raphael Yanyi had died of a heart attack. He had been presiding over the trial on corruption charges of Vital Kamerhe.

But an autopsy has since shown "he died a violent death, due to the blows of sharp points or knife-like objects, which were thrust into his head", Justice Minister Celestin Tunda Ya Kasende told Reuters news agency on Tuesday. Yanyi's body also showed signs of "toxic substances in non-lethal doses", the justice ministry said.

Mr Kamerhe, once a key member of President Felix Tshisekedi's government, is accused of embezzling more than $50m (£39m) of public funds. He denies all accusations of wrongdoing.

Boogalooer charged with murder..

A US Air Force sergeant with links to the far-right Boogaloo Bois movement has been charged with the murder of a federal security officer in California, the FBI says.

Steven Carrillo is accused of killing David Patrick Underwood outside the courthouse in Oakland during Black Lives Matter protests last month. He was already charged with the murder of another officer eight days later. Damon Gutzwiller was killed in an ambush near Santa Cruz on 6 June. Mr Carrillo, who is stationed at Travis air force base, was arrested during a subsequent confrontation.

He appears to have used his own blood to write various phrases on the bonnet of a car he stole, the FBI said, including "boog" and "stop the duopoly".

"Boogaloo" is a term used by extremists to reference a violent uprising or impending civil war in the US, the FBI said.

Adherents of the loose grouping known as Boogaloo Bois, which some liken to a militia, are anti-government and often carry assault weapons.

Finally an answer?

The apparent deathbed confession of a former policeman could end a series of unresolved murder cases which have baffled Belgian police for decades.

The "Crazy Brabant Killers", as they were known, murdered 28 people in Brussels in a dozen robberies during the 1980s - mostly at supermarkets.

They were never caught. Their ability to outwit police led to conspiracy theories of official cover-ups.

The gang's members were dubbed the "The Giant", "The Killer" and "The Old Man".

Their main target was the shops' petty cash holdings, but they would also spontaneously gun down customers.

Belgian authorities confirmed they were following a new line of inquiry after a man came forward to say that his brother, a former police officer, had confessed to being "The Giant"

Another clue?

The left-handed man is wearing sunglasses and holding a semi-automatic shotgun of a type used by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character in The Terminator.

His photograph was given anonymously to Belgian police 35 years ago after an armed raid on a supermarket in the Flemish city of Aalst on November 9, 1985, during which eight people were killed. It was the work of a notorious group known as the Brabant “crazy killers”. They took their death toll to 28 in their final act of violence before the murders and armed robberies suddenly and mysteriously ceased. The federal prosecutor’s office said that the person who submitted the photo had said it showed “a very important person in the Brabant killers case”.

The killings defined Belgium’s collective memory of the 1980s and the emergence of gangsterism and the far-right within the law enforcement agencies. Conspiracy theories swirled, with suggestions that the killers were part of a shadowy far-right network trying to destabilise the state.

Two years ago the case was reopened by federal prosecutors in a last push to identify the gang. Police have released the picture but the weapon was not of a type ever used in the raids. The same type was, however, owned by Pierre-Paul De Rycke, an underworld figure who held “pink ballet” sex parties where gangsters, police officers and far-right weapons enthusiasts frolicked with prostitutes in baths full of strawberry jam. He died in an apparent suicide in 2001.

This is one of the strangest carjacking incidents I've ever encountered ...
Police: Carjacker sits on driver, leads officers on chase

A man forced his way into a vehicle, sat on the driver and took off, pinning her on the seat while leading officers on a chase that began in New Jersey and ended in Pennsylvania, police said.

Tomasz Dymek, 31, of the Astoria neighborhood of Queens in New York City, was soliciting money in a drug store parking lot Thursday when a 66-year-old woman gave him $1, Ewing police said.

“Dymek was not satisfied with the dollar so he forced his way into the victim’s vehicle and drove from the lot, sitting on top of her in the driver’s seat,” police said in a news release. ...

The woman remained pinned under Dymek as he drove, and she could not hit the brakes, authorities said.

Callers alerted police, who pursued the vehicle into Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania, where it became disabled.

Police arrested Dymek as he fled on foot. He faces extradition and criminal and motor vehicle charges. It could not be determined if he had a lawyer.

The woman was examined by medics and gave police a statement.

Repeated thefts of crocodiles from an Australian reptile park have left the owner baffled ...
Someone in Australia Is Stealing Crocodiles and Authorities Don't Know Why

Fifty-nine baby crocodiles were recently reported stolen from a reptile park in Australia’s Northern Territory.

The hatchlings went missing last month from the Crocodylus Park in Darwin’s CBD, where they were being held as part of a research project aimed at exploring the impacts of habitat on crocodile growth. According to park owner Professor Grahame Webb, the animals are worth several hundred dollars each—and he's "100 percent sure they were stolen."

"It’s happened to us before," he told VICE over the phone, noting that hundreds of baby crocodiles have been taken from the park in the past. "At one stage we know that it was young kids that were putting them in their backpack and obviously selling them to somebody—I don't know who—and one time we saw a vehicle with five guys parked outside."

Professor Webb said he isn't sure exactly why people keep stealing the park's reptiles, but noted that "crocs have become a commercial commodity: you can buy crocodile products, you can buy stuffed crocodiles, you can buy things that are made from crocodiles. ...

Danish amateur submariner admits to dismembering reporter
More evidence discovered, story changes again—Madsen no longer calls it an "accident."

??? In Madsen's last court hearing, prosecutors revealed that they had found videos of women being tortured and decapitated on a hard drive of a computer at Madsen's RML Spacelab. Madsen denied the videos were his.

Madsen implicated in another murder.

The Danish inventor who murdered and dismembered a Swedish journalist on board his submarine was investigated over the killing of a 17-year-old girl, a book claims.

Peter Madsen, who is serving a life sentence for the death of the freelance reporter Kim Wall, allegedly came on to the radar of Danish police as they tried to identify the murderer of Emilie Meng, whose body was found in a lake on Christmas Eve in 2016.

Emilie’s disappearance is one of modern Denmark’s most infamous unsolved crimes. She vanished in July 2016 as she returned to her parents’ home in Korsor, a port town on the west coast of Zealand, after a night out with friends.

Fisherman steals a King Salmon fire truck, drives to bar with emergency lights on

An Eagle River man stole a fire truck from the King Salmon Fire Station on Saturday night and drove 15 miles with lights flashing to a bar where he was arrested, police said.

Dawson Cody Porter, 22, used a piece of lumber to break a window of the fire station and made his way inside the building around 9 p.m., the Bristol Bay Borough Police Department said in an online statement. Once inside, Porter started a fire truck and drove it through the station’s closed bay doors. Police Chief John Rhyshek said no one was in the building when Porter broke in.

Porter switched on the fire truck’s emergency overhead lights and headed west toward Naknek, 15 miles down the Alaska Peninsula Highway. Rhyshek estimates that Porter was driving the fire truck for less than a half hour before he parked in front of the Fisherman’s Bar.

Two Bristol Bay officers made contact with Porter before he got out of the fire truck and he was arrested outside the bar, Rhyshek said. ...

In total, Porter caused roughly $10,000 worth of damage and made it so the firetruck, which is valued at about $100,000, was out of service temporarily as it awaited necessary repairs. ...

Hopefully they will soon be gnomeward bound.

It is now Snow White and the Five Dwarfs after two were taken from a Carmarthenshire garden.

A thief has also taken ornamental sheep, dragons, plant pots and a horse - however, they failed to move a large concrete buddha. All the items are worth relatively little, but would take a car or van to move. Police believe that eight incidents, within a 10-mile (16km) radius of Carmarthen and Llanelli, are linked.

The Disney-themed gnomes were taken from a garden in Trimsaran and owner Naomi Wilmot first thought one of her relatives was playing a trick on her.

"I was given these gnomes as a gift and I spent ages painting them up so that they were all the right colour," she said.

It took over a year for police to decide to finger the husband. The wife disappeared one day and a ransom note was found in her home. But strangely the kidnappers did very little to try to collect. This caused the police to speculate the ransom was fake, and that she'd been killed, but initial investigation showed no obvious motive for a murder. Then people discovered that the wife had actually been considering filing for divorce. If so she'd have gotten a large chunk of her husband's fortune. Or so I heard anyways. Don't have any first hand info.

A man is charged in the death of a homeless man. Keonte Jones, 28, can be heard in video laughing at Larry Coner, 55, after Coner sustained an injury that would kill him, Las Vegas police say. Now Jones is facing time behind bars.

Cops cited footage posted to Facebook. Footage showed the man, identified as Jones, narrating as Coner trying to do a backflip for $6. The defendant did it for a Facebook video, officers said.

The victim attempted the maneuver twice, but only did cartwheels. He tried one more time, this time launching toward his back, but he didn’t land on his feet. He fell with an audible thud, apparently head first. The man identified as Jones laughed. The victim did not get up. ...

The personal assistant of murdered tech CEO Fahim Saleh has been charged with second-degree murder, after Saleh was found decapitated and dismembered in his $2.2 million Manhattan luxury apartment on Tuesday, after a cousin stopped by to check on him.

21-year-old Tyrese Haspil of Brooklyn was arrested on Friday morning in the lobby of a different luxury apartment building several blocks from where Saleh lived. On Saturday, two detectives walked Haspil out of the 7th Precinct in a white Tyvek suit, face mask, handcuffs and leg shackles - ignoring question from reporters, according to the report.
https://www.zerohedge.com/political/arrest-made-gruesome-murder-decapitated-tech-ceo
"He tried to run," the building superintendent told the New York Times, adding that Haspil had arrived at the apartment sometime on Wednesday, and said he was planning to leave on Monday.
Haspil, who handled Saleh's finances and personal matters, is believed to have owed his boss a "significant amount of money," according to the Associated Press citing the NYPD. The NY Daily News reports that Saleh discovered that Haspil had allegedly embezzled $90,000 from him, and had set up a repayment plan after firing him, instead of reporting it to authorities.
Saleh, the 33-year-old co-founder of Bangladeshi ride-share app Pathao and CEO of Nigerian motorcycle ride-sharing company Gokada - had been seen entering his apartment elevator around 1:40 p.m., followed by a man wearing a suit, latex gloves, hat and ninja mask, who was carrying a duffel bag.
According to law enforcement officials, after the elevator arrived on the 7th floor, the suspect could be seen firing a taser into Saleh's back, immobilizing him. Saleh was then stabbed to death, sustaining multiple wounds in the neck and torso, with the assailant returning the next day to dismember him with an electric saw and clean up when he was interrupted by Saleh's cousin.

Haspil reportedly used a credit card to buy the electric saw found at the scene, while a taser prong recovered from Saleh's body contained a serial number connecting Haspil to the murder, NY Daily News sources indicated. What's more, he was seen on surveillance video purchasing the saw and cleaning supplies at a local Home Depot, according to Manhattan Assistant DA Linda Ford at Haspil's Saturday morning arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court.

I guess what makes the crime strange is the leaping from the 13th floor by bot the suspect and the cop.

It helps when you have a comedian as president.

A gunman in Ukraine armed with an automatic rifle and grenades has surrendered to police and released 13 hostages after the country’s president consented to his demand to recommend the 2005 film Earthlings starring Joaquin Phoenix.

The niche film recommendation, delivered by President Volodymyr Zelenskiy over Facebook, helped end an hours-long standoff in the western Ukrainian city of Lutsk, where 44-year-old Maksym Kryvosh seized a bus and demanded that dozens of government officials admit to being “terrorists”.

During the hostage crisis, which began on Tuesday morning, Kryvosh opened fire and threw a grenade at a police drone. The reports of automatic gunfire sent some journalists at the scene diving for cover. No one was seriously injured during the standoff. A bullet was reported to have nearly struck the national chief of police.
