But was the Californian monolith put up before, after, or at the same time as the Utah monolith? And is it a copycat or from the same party?

Does this mean someone has a garage full of monoliths they will be erecting over the course of the next few weeks?

The Utah 'monolith' was discovered in late November. The Pine Mountain (Atascadero) version didn't appear until December 2.

The California 'monolith' is taller than the Utah version, and both its construction and its installation method are difference from the Utah version.

Vandals Remove Object from Pine Mountain

After gaining international acclaim, the obelisk at Stadium Park in Atascadero was stolen

And just as quickly as its prestige traveled around the world, it was gone. The triangular monolith at the top of Pine Mountain was removed by a group of vandals before it could be further secured.

Overnight, in the early hours of Thursday, a group of young men traveled from Orange County to remove the object in the name of “Christ is king.” Among the audio from the late night video, the person speaking called the object an “alien obelisk” and said “We don’t want illegal aliens from Mexico, or outer space.” ...

The video showed at least three young men pushing over the obelisk until it fell to the ground. The area has been investigated by the City of Atascadero.

In an email response, Deputy City Manager Terrie Banish wrote “The Monolith disappeared this morning. We did not remove it. There was rebar found in the ground, so we are planning to remove that as it’s a safety hazard. At this time, the City does not have any plans to investigate this further.” ...

From eye witnesses at the scene, the obelisk appeared in the early morning hours of Wednesday and lasted around 24 hours before it was taken down by the out-of-town vandals.

The vandals placed a wooden cross on Pine Mountain. ...

'Magical' monolith appears on Isle of Wight beach in the UK

A monolith, similar to those found recently in other parts of the world, has appeared on a beach in Britain.
The unusual mirrored structure was discovered on the Isle of Wight, an island off the south coast of England.
Island resident Alexia Fishwick said she "was dumbstruck" when she came across it during a walk on Sunday and described it as "really quite magical".
A monolith found in Utah last month created wild speculation on social media and apparent copycats.
Many observers have presumed they were art installations left by sculptors.
The metal edifice in Utah was found planted in the ground before it disappeared just days later.

What's Cleopatra's Needle? One of those.

The three Cleopatra's Needles monuments are obelisks. An obelisk has a pointy summit by definition.
