Strange Crimes

Imagine discovering that your ex middle school sweetheart was the woman who stole Nancy Pelosi's laptop and planned to sell it to the Russians.

Lol, I liked the one where an 18 year old high school student retweeted a video that showed her mother at the Capitol..

"In the aftermath of the chaos, Helena Duke, an 18-year-old Massachusetts high schooler, retweeted a video that she says showed her mother among the crowd outside the Capitol. “hi mom,” Helena wrote, “remember the time you told me I shouldn’t go to BLM protests bc they could get violent… this you?” Her tweet quickly racked up more than 79,000 retweets and 410,000 likes, as many applauded the young woman for calling out her mother."

...

Helena Duke: "My cousin sent me the video of my mom [allegedly] harassing that woman and then getting punched in the face. I was in disbelief and it felt very surreal that she was actually there and the woman in that viral video was my mother. It was very overwhelming."

You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?

Woman puts up increased £1,500 reward for safe return of pet crow Eddie who was stolen by burglars

A heartbroken animal lover has increased the reward to anyone who can help ensure the safe return of her pet crow and the conviction of those responsible for stealing him during a raid on her home.

Eddie the crow was taken when burglars raided Michelle Johnson's home in Stoney Stanton, near Hinckley, earlier this month.

The intruders took cash, jewellery and power tools, but the loss of Eddie has been the worst part of the experience for Michelle.

Initially, she offered a reward of £1,000 for information which brings him home and helps police identify the raiders and put them before the courts.

She is now offering £1,500 ...

Woman ‘gives armed robber blowjob to distract him until police arrive’

The would-be thief had allegedly burst into the station in Slovakian capital Bratislava before demanding cash from a terrified sales assistant late on Tuesday night.

He was then said to have punched a male member of staff in the face and helped himself to the till takings.

The employee then fled to the office, where a co-worker was, before escaping out a back door and calling the police, Noviny.sk reports.

The 24-year-old suspect was said to have followed him in and demanded more cash from the safe when the 36-year-old Czech woman appeared and decided to stop him with what was described as an ‘unusual method’.

By the time police arrived they found the pair lying half naked on the ground.

The suspect was arrested after a brief struggle and taken to a police station following the incident.

What a plonker.

A driver went supermarket shopping in a second-hand ambulance with the emergency lights flashing, police said.

The ambulance was reportedly carrying a family when it arrived at the Asda store in the Harpurhey area of Manchester on Wednesday. Traffic officers tweeted that the group then "promptly went inside to do their shopping". The ambulance was seized and a man was later charged with a range of driving offences.

Long Man of Wilmington carving given face mask makeover

A giant carving of a figure on the chalk South Downs has had a mask painted over its face.

The addition of the face covering to the Long Man of Wilmington, a protected archaeological site, was discovered on Tuesday, Sussex Police said.
The force said the landmark near Polegate had been defaced by vandals.

Sgt Tom Carter said that while it "may have been perpetrated for humour...the actions that have been taken are unacceptable".

On Twitter, Jeremy Christey posted a picture of the carving and wrote: "The Long Man of Wilmington, Sussex has inherited a rather slender mask. Good man. To be safe, he probably needs to pull it down a touch tbh..."

The 235ft (72m) figure on the hillside above the village of Wilmington can be seen from the A27 which passes alongside it.

I'm surprised the Cerne Abbas Giant hasn't had a mask put on him yet, to be honest. They're fast enough to shove a condom on him - time for the other end to have a bit of protection.

Clowns hold up Manchester pub

A gang of robbers dressed as clowns tied up a shopkeeper and pointed a shotgun at him before they were chased through Manchester city centre.
The three men in fancy dress entered Brannigans in Peter Street at 1000 BST on Monday.

They handcuffed the trainee manager and threatened him with a sawn-off shotgun and a 10-inch knife before they fled with a small amount of money.

Their white Transit van was followed through the centre of Manchester and was involved in three separate accidents before the clowns ran from the vehicle and escaped.

'Terrifying' ordeal

Police hope witnesses will remember seeing the raiders because of their colourful costumes.

Detectives Inspector Darren Shention said four men escaped in Ravelston Drive after being followed along Deansgate, three of them still dressed as clowns.

"This was a highly organised team, who had obviously spent some time planning this robbery.

"The trainee manager who was threatened by the robbers has been left extremely shaken and traumatised by what can only be described as a terrifying ordeal.

"About 20 minutes before the robbery took place, the white Transit van was parked outside Brannigans, facing towards St Peters Square.

"There is no doubt that anyone walking along the road at the time the robbers were heading into or out of the building would have spotted them, especially as they were dressed as clowns."
oh my Goddess this is so council lads. Branigans, clowns and transite vans

Wiscasset woman arrested after crashing car into Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office

A Wiscasset woman has been arrested after crashing her car through the front door of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and then fleeing the scene on foot.

At about a quarter to midnight on Saturday, police say 35-year-old Kristen Crowley ran her Hyundai Sonata directly into the front door of Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. According to police, Crowley failed to negotiate the intersection and traveled straight through, crossing Route 1.

The collision pushed the entry door in, and the car was stopped by an interior lobby railing. Then, Crowley fled the scene on foot, police say. She was apprehended a few minutes later on Federal Street.

Police say Crowley was transported to the hospital where she was treated for non-life threatening injuries. She was then transported to Two Bridges Regional Jail. ...

Police say Crowley has been charged with operating under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, and violation of conditions of release.

According to police, Crowley was involved in a November robbery while out on bail. ...

Three Louisiana men are charged with first-degree murder for killing two women, neither of whom was the woman they'd conspired to kill in a murder-for-hire plot.
Two women were killed in murder-for-hire plot gone wrong, Louisiana sheriff says

Three men are facing murder charges after two women were killed -- including the sister of one of the men -- in a murder-for-hire plot gone wrong, according to Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Tim Soignet.

During a press conference Monday, the sheriff said Beaux Cormier hired Andrew Eskine and Dalvin Wilson to kill a rape victim who was set to testify against him.

In a press release, the sheriff's office said that Cormier, 35, of Kaplan, Lousiana, Eskine, 25, of Carencro, Louisiana, and Wilson, 22, of Rayne, Louisiana traveled to Montegut, Louisiana to do surveillance on the residence and had, on a prior occasion, attempted to carry out the murder but were unsuccessful.

Montegut is about 70 miles southwest of New Orleans.

On January 13, Wilson went to the home in Montegut and asked for the rape victim by name. Brittany Cormier, Beaux's sister, told the shooter that it was her, in an attempt to protect the victim, the sheriff said, noting that she was "accepting her fate to save the life of the actual victim."

Brittany Cormier was shot along with her neighbor, Hope Nettleton, who was at the home visiting and had tried to fight off the shooter, according to Soignet. Both women died at the scene. Neither woman was the person the suspects were hired to kill, according to the sheriff. ...
