Oh, The Irony

Correction - whipped cream is not illegal in NY state. According to the report it’s illegal for shopkeepers to sell to those under 21.

If you yourself wanted to indulge in a can of whipped cream whilst on holiday there I assume you’d be at liberty to. You may have to show age ID in view of your youthful appearance though.
It's the nitrous oxide used as the propellant that's the issue. It has become a problem in the UK as well. Only read yesterday that a teenage girl died from inhaling it, but she was asthmatic. Unfortunately it's known as laughing gas in the UK, so presumably attractive to pissed up teenagers. Friend uses it in his car for drag racing and he is finding it more difficult to buy, which makes no sense.

Exactly - that’s why it’s being treated like alcohol. The thinking being I suppose, that it’s mainly teens taking it. Dunno how true that is. I read it can cause nerve damage as well..

Whipped cream however, is not illegal.

Should be though:D
I see you as more of a cheese-in-a-can man. Mmmmmm…..squeezy cheese. Seems it uses Nitrogen as propellant rather than Nitrous Oxide. I’m counting on Trev to tell us why.

Vegan food company COO bites other guy's nose off.

Things got ugly off the field Saturday night in Fayetteville after Arkansas put the finishing touches on a come-from-behind victory over Missouri State.

A 53-year-old man was arrested for an incident in a nearby parking garage after he allegedly attacked and threatened another man over a traffic dispute.

The man who was arrested is Doug Ramsey, the COO of Beyond Meat. Among the allegations levied against Ramsey is that he bit the other man’s nose, “ripping the flesh on the tip of the nose.”

You can’t ever really overcome our innate need for meat.

Interesting amount of "food" related items here lately—Beyond Meat's exec chomping flesh and drawing blood, the mysteries of Easy Cheese and the intoxicating properties of canned "whipped cream" . . . for those of you across the pond, get this straight: canned whip cream isn't whipped cream at all, it's slime!

Now that's ironic!

China's former justice minister Fu Zhenghua, who spearheaded several corruption-fighting campaigns, has been jailed for bribery.

Fu pleaded guilty in July to accepting 117 million yuan ($14.7m; $16.5m) in gifts and money for personal gain. On Thursday, a court in Changchun gave him a death sentence to be commuted to life in prison after two years.

His conviction comes amid a sudden crackdown on officials ahead of a key Communist Party congress next month. China's ruling party holds the event once every five years and this time President Xi Jinping is expected to be given a historic third term and consolidate his hold on power.

Fu's jailing on Thursday follows the sentencing of three other former provincial police chiefs this week. All four men are not only accused of corruption but also of being disloyal to Mr Xi.

... gave him a death sentence to be commuted to life in prison after two years.

So they will dig him up? :)

I was wondering the exact same thing. Maybe it was a bad translation of something akin to a suspended sentence

Those sentences are usually commuted after 2 years of good behaviour, not an unusual sentence in China.

Am going out to a real pub today. And several more over the next few days. It's a fellow bassist's bday today , and he needs cheering up after discovering the girl he's been following around with doe eyes for two years is a lesbian . (We've all only just found out, she only came out a couple of weeks ago because she's in love - good for her)

It's my bday tomorrow. 65. Never thought i'd get past 40. Hope I die before i get old and all that.

Gonna try for 70 now - that will beat my Dad and all his brothers. And I've decided I want to stick around and see how all this nonsense turns out.

Am planning on partying until Sunday, then retreating to the hills to sit out Covid and whatever post-apocalyptic society we have afterwards. Change in plan, really - I had planned on moving to Liverpool to enjoy the city nightlife, but that looks to be on indefinite postponement, so for the time being I'll go back to being an old hippie. Not so far as to give up bacon sandwiches, though. Pity I had to throw my Afghan out a while back - it had pretty much reached the point where it was moving about by itself.
LMFAO you have a good time dear

Tory crime commissioner Caroline Henry banned from driving after being caught speeding five times in 12 weeks

At a police and crime panel meeting last month, Henry said she remained "absolutely committed" to reducing speeding, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

Henry was reportedly teary at times as she gave evidence on Monday, telling the court that relying on public transport would make it difficult to transport her children.
She keeps mentioning her kids, well hire a taxi to take them to school or get on a darn bus, we pay you enough, and she is from my Shire.
