Thinking about it @Dick Turpin, some of the hospitals for smallpox etc were just semi-temporary wooden 'shacks' really, so perhaps that's why there's no history on it (yet, anyway).
I see your missus has mastered sarcasm then. I like that.my wife said "that's cheerful'.
I have that book, and shall read it once I've finished reading about serial killers.....The Premonitions Bureau was the Book of the Week at Radio Four last week (or the week before, I forget). I got to hear a couple of episodes whilst driving and it was excellent.
I've got it on Kindle. Very interesting read. The Premonitions Bureau was the Book of the Week at Radio Four last week (or the week before, I forget). I got to hear a couple of episodes whilst driving and it was excellent.
I must try to remember to look it up !I've got it on Kindle. Very interesting read.
In a similar tone, I thought that someone came into my room last night and told me off for snoring. I muttered 'sorry' and turned over.
I live alone.
It was a dream. One of those where you half-wake (probably woke myself up snoring).
You still got the little railway? That was brilliant. No, although some people say that visiting Hythe is like stepping back in time.
I want to visit the 'little railway' at some point.
Apparently the area through which it travels is a hotbed of Forteana.
I went down there on holiday circa 1977/78. I loved that railway (and the sea of course). I remember a fair at Hythe (I think).Yes, it's still running. They're putting it to bed for the winter this weekend with a special event.

The semi-regular military flight just went overhead - this time an Apache Gunship, callsign 'Outlaw2'. Nice.
It was really rather unusual to spot these, and the Chinooks, up until a couple of years ago, but I guess they always flew around but previously I wasn't sat at home most of the day to notice them.

Ambitious, and extremely specific to the festive period, paint job.The Black Horse in Densole, 2012.
Certainly Romney Marsh which the little railway runs on for almost all of its length is a great place for spooky feels. Or it was, back when we used to holiday there in the 60's/70's. There's interesting ruins like this as well:I want to visit the 'little railway' at some point.

Precast concrete. I bet they took some shifting into position.Certainly Romney Marsh which the little railway runs on for almost all of its length is a great place for spooky feels. Or it was, back when we used to holiday there in the 60's/70's. There's interesting ruins like this as well:

Several lost villages also, and the shingle landscape out beyond Greatstone.
It's not my photo but I did see it from the bus from Canterbury which is what prompted me to look for it.Ambitious, and extremely specific to the festive period, paint job.
I can't imagine what future societies might think these were if they were unearthed several thousands of years from now. Would they realize that they were made specifically in response to a war? Or would they think it was a primitive device in which humans listened for messages from a deity?Certainly Romney Marsh which the little railway runs on for almost all of its length is a great place for spooky feels.
