Strange Crimes

A Tesla? It didn't explode?

Cars generally will only explode upon crashing from a cliff if filled with bags of flammable gas and a detonation device, such as those used in films.

A mates son just bought a new one, not had it long wants rid,
it tried to steer him back onto the left lane as he was overtaking
a truck though luckily he was able to overcome the power steering,
then as he was driving across a zebra crossing someone started to
cross likely intending to pass behind the car but the car went into
full emergency stop mode including the seat belt pretensioners,
he is now nursing a bruised shoulder.
He's not a happy bunny but I wonder if it is a software glitch or
a setting needs tweaking though I am only guessing.

Was it actually a 1958 Plymouth Fury? o_O

If it's a new/ish car he needs to get it back to where it came from ASAP.

In fairness, that was a very specific set of circumstances that involved being stopped with the, IMS, right indicator on.

But still, exploding and incinerating the occupants is a very unattractive feature in a car.
It might be the new 'population reduction' feature.

Transgender man dipped prosthetic penis into pub drinker’s pint, court hears

A transgender man has been fined £200 and been ordered to pay £400 in compensation after he dipped his fake penis into a reveller's pint glass during a night out in a pub, a court has heard.

Jesse Hawthorne, from Caerphilly, was asked to leave the Welsh bar after fellow drinkers took offence at his drunken prosthetic penis prank.

But Hawthorne, 30, flew into a rage and smashed a bottle by throwing it at a one-armed bandit machine instead, a court heard.

In 2015, Hawthorne became the first transgender person to be convicted of revenge porn after he shared a sexually explicit photograph of an ex on Facebook, and was also jailed in 2018 for a violent assault.

Well, that's the headline they chose, but he and his wife did all sorts of other stuff too.

Man who let wife use his sperm in cakes she made for pupils given 100-year jail term
A former deputy sheriff will spend the rest of his life in jail after pleading guilty to several sex crimes.
This included putting his sperm into a cake his wife had made for her students at the school she taught at.
Dennis Perkins, 46, from Louisiana, was given a 100-year sentence and follows in the footsteps of wife Cynthia, 37, who was sentenced to 41 years in prison in February for pleading guilty to her role in her husband’s crimes.

People complain about strikes, late trains and timetable disruption but it's small beer compared to what happens in Nigeria.

At least 32 people have been abducted at a train station in Edo state, southern Nigeria, the authorities say.

Among those taken were station staff and passengers waiting for a train. The security forces, helped by local hunters, have launched a search-and-rescue operation for the victims.

There have been increasing concerns about attacks in the country. The latest incident comes in the month before a presidential election where security is a major campaign issue.

Reports say that on Saturday a large number of gunmen, armed with AK-47s, shot in the air as they entered the station in Igueben before seizing the travellers and staff and taking them to a nearby forest. Some of those who managed to flee sustained bullet wounds, eyewitnesses have been quoted as saying. One woman with a baby also reportedly escaped and found her way to a neighbouring community where she has been rescued.

The kidnappers also released two children as it was "believed that they felt the children will slow down their movements", a local resident is quoted by the Vanguard newspaper as saying.

Edo state government spokesperson Chris Osa Nehikhare said that many people had started using the train as the local road had become "a no-go area, with huge ransoms being collected from families of [kidnap] victims".

Bizarre, now they're facing more serious charges.

Three men have been arrested after 12 people including a young child were locked inside a shop during a police crackdown on fake goods in Manchester.

They were left trapped inside the store on Moulton Street, Strangeways, as the shopkeepers ran off with the keys to try to escape. The shutters had been disabled and police had to break them down. The men were held on suspicion of false imprisonment and trademark offences, Greater Manchester Police said.

A spokesman said officers also detained a "spotter" who had alerted the shopkeepers to the police presence during Friday's afternoon's raid.
Insp Andrew Torkington said: "This was a dangerous and unsettling situation we encountered. Had we not been able to get inside the shop, who knows how long the members of the public would have been stuck inside before the owners braved returning."

The raid was part of Operation Vulcan, which is targeting fake designer goods and crime in Cheetham Hill and Strangeways. Police said the illegal trade is estimated to be worth £8.6bn per year with the notorious Manchester area linked to almost half of that sum.

Sexual bondage date turned deadly when victim bit man’s genitals, Florida cops say

A man’s bondage sex date turned deadly when the partner he met online took offense to being bitten on the genitals, according to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators discovered a motive when they tracked down “the last person who had been in contact with the victim,” according to a news release.

It took four months to arrest the 34-year-old suspect, who has been charged with manslaughter and possession of methamphetamine, officials said.

“On September 5, 2022, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office responded to an address in Kissimmee, Florida, regarding a suspicious death,” the sheriff’s office said. “The deceased victim was wearing bondage gear and appeared to have trauma to his body. ... The Medical Examiner’s office has ruled the death was caused by blunt force trauma and strangulation.”

Detectives identified Bryant Scott Demelo as the last person to see the victim alive.

“Demelo told detectives he and the victim met on an online chat group for sexual encounters, and the two arranged to meet in person,” officials said. “According to Mr. Demelo, during oral sex, the victim bit down on his penis, which caused Mr. Demelo to beat the victim. The victim suffered severe injuries and was knocked unconscious.” Demelo then left “without calling 911 or rendering aid,” officials said.

Nothing to see here, move along.

The Vatican has formally closed its latest investigation into the 1983 disappearance of an employee’s 15-year-old daughter after digging up a Holy See cemetery in search of her remains.

The mystery of Emanuela Orlandi’s disappearance has horrified and intrigued Italians for decades. The cold case resurfaced last year after an anonymous tip to the missing girl’s family suggested her body might be buried in the Teutonic cemetery inside the walls of Vatican City. The Vatican had underground burial chambers near the cemetery opened and brought in forensic experts to investigate. But tests on thousands of bone fragments determined the remains long predated Emanuela’s disappearance, the most recent ones having been interred about 100 years ago.

Investigation reopened.

The Vatican has reopened an investigation into the disappearance of the 15-year-old daughter of an employee in 1983 - months after a Netflix documentary shed fresh light on the case.

Just weeks ago, her family once again asked the Italian Parliament to take up the cause, and now Vatican prosecutor, Alessandro Diddi, has opened a file on Emanuela Orlandi's disappearance.

The case has been reopened, in part, based "on the requests made by the family in various places", Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni said.

A lawyer for the Orlandi family, Laura Sgro, said she had no independent confirmation of the development, which was first reported by Italian news agencies Adnkronos, LaPresse and Ansa. ...

The recent four-part Netflix documentary Vatican Girl explored those scenarios and provided new evidence from a friend who said Ms Orlandi had told her a week before she disappeared that a high-ranking Vatican cleric had made sexual advances towards her.

Last month, Ms Sgro and Ms Orlandi's brother Pietro announced a new initiative to convene a parliamentary commission of inquest into the case.

Three previous initiatives in the Italian Parliament have failed to get off the ground, but Ms Sgro and opposition politician Carlo Calenda argued the Vatican could not consider the case closed when so many questions remain unanswered.

Speaking to RaiNews24 on Monday, Pietro Orlandi called it a "positive step" that the Vatican has apparently changed its mind, gotten over its resistance and now will go over the case from the start.

A "positive" step? Forty years later? Pfft:roll:
That just means that the perpetrator involved is probably dead.

Coventry Cat Shaver

A number of cats have been partially shaved since 2021.

The latest victim, six-year-old Tallulah, is the first in more than a year.

Her owner Bonnie Towe, who lives in the suburb of Radford, said she noticed the bald patch when her daughter picked up the beloved pet.

‘It had been done quite carefully as well, as her stomach didn’t look sore or cut.’

The last time the shaver struck in Coventry was October 2021, when Andrea Wilson’s pet Daisy came home with a significant amount of fur missing.

Her shock was compounded by confusion when her Facebook post about the event drew out a number of other locals who said similar things had happened to them.

Nearby resident Rebecca Keogh said her cats Shelby and Smudge were targeted, with one of them left ‘completely shaved apart from his head and feet’.

I'm not saying some bad stuff didn't happen but the above sounds hokey as hell if sadly unsurprising for a Satanic Ritual Abuse type story.

There are known historical cases where police have spoken out about bizarre claims derailing what was otherwise a strightforward prosecution for child abuse.

I'm wondering how you fit a girl in a microwave to be honest.
