Favourite Conspiracy theory

it has to be the moon landing because it makes sense that nasa is ltelling fibbs which also means they are denining ufos:cool:

What about the one with the evil roofdeckers?

The NASA one is really ridiculous. If they are smart enough to fake it, wouldn´t they be smart enough to put fake stars in the background? I think this conspiracy is made by some people rather jealous of rocket scientists.

I personally like the one with the Nazi´s and the hollow Earth.

The hollow earth one is still current, with no less a personage than David Icke being a believer. (See "The Biggest Secret" by Icke.) I hope that someday someone will take the time to explain Gauss' Law to him...;)

Kennedy Assaination

Why?
It goes back and forth, the more you learn. So many explanations make sense but only for a while.

Example.
No conspiracy: Decide once and for all that Oswald, on his own did it.
Conspiracy: Then remember that he just got that job at that building that just happened to be where the car was going about as slow as it could at that corner. Also look into the history of the guy who got him that job.
Problem: Why not shoot K head on (who was in the back seat) when the car was at it's slowest, coming into the turn. Why wait for it to be speeding up away with tree branches in the way?

It can go on like that. For every explanation there is an equal and opposit explanation.

Why wouldn't they let Ruby get out of custudy of the Dallas police and come to Washington or a military base to testify, as he requested?

Why this, why that. Plus there are all the bald faced liars pumping the story full off misleading tales and confabulated facts.

It is a murder done in front of a huge crowd of onlookers. There was a movie camera rolling and audio tapes and hundreds of witnesses! There were trained observers (Secret Service). Yet, who knows what really happened for sure?

Many twists and turns.

Roswell & Clones

Definitely that the Government is Covering up UFO Crash(es). It would mean:

A. THEY are out there and B. We have recovered some of their technology and even possibly have bits and pieces of "THEY" themselves in an icebox somewhere.

It holds the hope that we will (all) meet them someday, and makes it likely that our technology will continue to advance. One other appeal, to me, goes to the very nature of this one: The sheer immensity of the SECRET and numbers of people that must be involved make this conspiracy remind me of the time my +200lb Aunt climbed into my rickety old tree house (that I built out of termite infested scrap wood as a kid) --- you know its not a good idea to start with and the whole thing is going to come tumbling down sooner rather than later.

I HOPE its true, but I doubt it, which is sort of a mirror image of a
typical usual conspiracy.

(I am aware this puts a big smiley face on a conspiracy that often includes MIB, violent military coverups and purposeful government misinformation - in my happy/cartoon version none of that happens)

I've never been much of a conspiracy buff myself. I think the idea of a bunch of people being able to come up with a coherent and efficient conspriacy and then successfully covering it up for years is a tad too optimistic for my blood.

That being said I do have a soft spot for the Kenedy assassination. Either Kennedy assassination but particularly JFK. I love it because you can actually talk it over in the pub with 'normal' people. My personaly favourite pub theory of the assassination of JFK is - It was suicide. JKF rigged squibs to fake his assassination and make a point about gun control (well that worked). Ok that one did come out under the influince of a lot of alcohol but it's nice to get a different perspective sometimes.

I also rather like the one about how th world is secretly ruled by about a dozen people who all meet up around a single table in Zuric or Washington and decide how to screw up our lives. I've always wondered what sort of table it is:) .

Here's a new one.

I have just received a copy of "Conspiracy Theories" written by Robin Ramsay (who is also editor of the conspiracy journal "Lobster".) However, if he has written it, why does the copyright page on the inside identify a Mike Paine (who I have never heard of before) as the author and copyright holder?

Does Robin Ramsay really exist? (I saw someone who claimed to be him giving a talk at the FT Uncon' a few years back.) Who is Mike Paine? Is he an agent of "Them"? (Spreading disinformation under an assumed name perhaps?)

Spooky eh?
;)

By the way, I heartily recommend the book...

Queen Mum & Beryl!!

Then there's the one about the Queen Mother supposedly dying several years ago only for the powers-that-be to replace her by the actress Beryl Reid because of the unstable state of the Royal Family.
That's why you never see her talking much now... they can't get rid of the Brummie accent!!!

I have a soft spot for this guy, mainly because of the wonderful comix he does to illustrate his demented ideas about the the Catholic Church.

Plus of course being able to:

'Learn of rock's ancient Druid origins, its occult connections, its dangers, and why it should have no place in a Christian's life. '

can be no bad thing!

When I first started to explore the web about five years
back, I came across a very strange site written, supposedly,
by an Israeli student living in New York.

He had cunningly set up a number of pages to appeal to
various human weaknesses - one of them was cycling but
I'm not saying which of his rabbit-holes I fell down.

Once sucked in, you followed a link and were presented with a
mind boggling episode of total paranoia.

The gist of it was that at some point he had been filmed doing
some unspeakable sexual act. Now, wherever he went, a
shadowy group of people were arranging for the film to be shown
on whatever campuses he visited.

It could all have been a weird literary hoax but, as one of the
first things I read on the Web, it seemed like a desperate
message in a bottle.

After that, everything else had seemed relatively sane, till
I found this place. :D

The chatroom one is my fav. Why cos lots of people asked for one and now we have one (well 4) they don`t use it.

Ahh yes...

Mine would have to be...(roles eyes in thought)...MiB...

It would make sense to have a secret organisation protectint the people of this miserable planet from the threat of extraterrestrial invasion or indeed the ones that are already here...if they are a threat at all. If not then they are protecting us from ourselves. Because we would go insane with panic if we found that we weren't alone on this planet, never mind the Galaxy...

I remember hearing one a bit back that Elvis had John Lennon killed, cos Lennon asked him "why don't you make any good songs any more?"!

A quick glance at the dates of death of the two stars reveals holes in this theory...

...unless... of course... Elvis lives!

This is my new favourite...

http://www.virusmyth.net/aids/

"A growing group of bio-medical scientists claim the cause of AIDS is still unknown. These heretics do not believe in the lethal AIDS virus called HIV. They claim that the virus is indeed harmless. Most of them think AIDS is also not sexually transmitted; it probably has toxic causes. People die because they are poisoned to death by toxic antiviral drugs. Part of the AIDS dissidents even question the existence of a virus entity. These HIV skeptics say that the AIDS virus has never really been isolated, and the AIDS tests are worthless..."

For some reason AIDS seems to attract conspiracy theories like almost no other medical condition. Go figure.

My favorite....

1. That the US and UK governments carried out secret mind control experiments in an effort to create the perfect assassin... oh yeah, that one's real....

2. That the US govt secretly injected mainly black and disabled prisoners with plutonium and other noxious chemicals over a long period of time simply to guage the effects... oh yeah, that one's real and well proven too...

3. That a national trial whereby black men with sexually transmitted diseases were given ineffectual treatments in order to track the effects of syphilis over the subjects lifetimes... oh yeah...so is that one

4. That various government organisations funded and trained a variety of terrorist groups over a protracted peiod of time in an effort to combat the evils of communism only to have the whole shit heap fall on their and their citizens' heads on a number of ocassions.... oh yeah.....

5. That the UK govt carried out testing of biological and chemical weapons at a number of sites and on a number of unwitting subjects (often under the guise of research into the common cold) with little or no accountability under law.... oh yeah....

6. That the army and police carried out a shoot to kill policy in Northern Ireland at the height of the troubles only to be found out and let off many years later..... oh yeah.... that one's true too
...

Hey - what fun would conspiracy theories be unless there were the odd real plot here and there to validate every ones paranoia?

The only shocking fact is that these people have the where with all to actually fool anyone....

David Icke is nothing more than a trained CIA agent sent to discredit many conspiracy theories with his kookie ideas.

He can control the weather y'know  :monster:

My faves gotta b the 'conspiracy theory' conspiracy theory: All UFO, black ops, JFK, mind control etc theories are spread by disinformation agents in the govt to pull the wool over people's eyes. By diverting people's attentions away from real world events (and politics in particular) the (one world?) govt creates an underclass of paranoics who mingle with genuine political idealists/agitators and undermine any genuine attempt to understand real world politics. Basically, by making conspiracy theorists look like loonies they reduce the ability for people with 'real' anti state information to deseminate this without appearing to be part of the same 'unbalanced' group.

HOw dya like them onions!

I like the theory that the Queen rules the world through a secret drug cartel. Oh and she's a Lizard.

Sorry. Must stop doing that.
Check out Donna Kossy's Kooks Museum site (don't have the URL yet - sorry) for some CTs that knock the rest into an immaculate, yet strangely old fashioned black hat. There are some absolute maniacs out there kids.

My favourite and the most funny conspiracy theory is that fred durst of limp bizkit is a talented musician ( :D )

Fav theories...

Hi,

I've been doing a little digging on conspiracies and so forth, but I was wondering what people's "favourite" conspiracy theories were on the board?

Eliot

It's not exactly a conspiracy theory, but I read an interview with a secret service agent who was in the Kennedy motorcade at the time of the assassination, whose belief was that Oswald acted alone, but was aiming at John Connally - the Texas politician sitting next to Kennedy at the time, wounded by the "magic bullet." He was Commandant of Marines at the time, and though Oswald can't be shown to have a grudge against Kennedy, he did have a history of problems with the Marines.

I love this theory, untestable as it is, because it's so in-character and is such a perfect twist story.

The moon landings were faked has got to amongst my favs

My mum drives me nuts because she believes any thory going without thinking about them too much.
