Had you been alone, I would have assumed your mind, maternally tuned in to your child's voice, had misinterpreted some other noise (especially since there weren't distinct words). But your mother hearing it too and having the exact same reaction is harder to interpret that way, I think.

Why does it have to be either/or? Rather, why would you call it "just" an amazing dream? It sounds downright amazing to me! It could be a source of insight just like any experience you've ever had. Why not?
