i just finished this book and found it an intimate portrait of the life a private man. Having always been more keenly interested in Fort's books & ideas than FT (though I still have boxes full of back issues) I thought the book did a good...
excellent. i just realized it was wrapping up. too bad i couldn't make it...
should i expect that he'll see this or should i try to contact him directly?
i'm currently visiting the south of the uk and would like to find the current issue of FT. the nearest town is Totnes. anyone familiar with or from the area know where i might find the mag?
i searched and could not believe this fantastic book hadn't been mentioned on the boards (at least i couldn't find it anyway). on a lark, my roomate gave me this book to read for the flight over to the uk (from the states). i was flabbergasted to see the most obvious fortean references woven...
it just occurred to me this morning to wonder whether the two were familiar with each other. certainly some parts of B.O.T.D. strike me as alluding to some of the crowleys metaphysics. Even the title is remnescent of his B.O.T.L. and in that book reason is "damned" (for a dog). perhaps fort...
