It's OK to quote the title and a few lines from the article and then say 'rest of article at link'.

I don't click bare-naked URLs!

Schools receive request for after-school 'Satan Club'
by: HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH, The Associated Press Updated: Aug 4, 2016 - 11:33 AM

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — After-school religious clubs appear to be the next venture of a national group that sought to install a statue of Satan outside two state capitols to protest Christian monuments on public grounds.
The Satanic Temple contacted nine public school districts across the country this week seeking to start after-school Satan programs. In all but one district, religious clubs are operated by the Child Evangelism Fellowship's Good News Clubs, in which students can study the Bible and pray, according to temple co-founder Lucien Greaves.

If you let the school have a Jesus club a Muslim club and a Jewish club you kind of have to let them have a satanist club. Unless no students identify as satanists, that's like the empty room we had at my college in case anyone decided they were transgendered. I thought it was weird to have a funded club that served zero students (this was in mid 90s, I am sure there are some transgendered students there now).
Personally I think a pagan club would be 10 times cooler, but that's just me....

The Satanists have been having a grand old time lately over here, reminding us all of the law and equal protection under the constitution and wotnot.

They recently had some fun with colouring books.

Florida Satanic Church To Pass Out Children’s Coloring Books In Public Schools

Have you ever wondered what a Satanic children’s coloring book might look like? Well, thanks to the great state of Florida you can now know for certain.

Behold, the “The Satanic Children’s Big Book of Activities,” a coloring book that is being disseminated across Orange County public schools, according to Raw Story.

An Illinois school district is under fire for allowing an ‘after-school Satan Club’ program being offered by The Satanic Temple.

Parents are outraged after a flyer inviting Jane Addams Elementary students ages 6 to 11 to an after school Satan Club circulated social media this week.

The Satanic Temple’s co-founder claimed the Satan Club won’t try to convert children to Satanism or force them to worship the devil.

“This actually isn’t a club that’s meant to proselytize Satanism or even engage in discussions about religious opinion,” Satanic Temple co-founder Lucien Greaves told WQAD. “This is an educational program meant to focus on critical thinking and just basic education skills.”

Another attempt at forming a club.

A parent's attempt to start an After School Satan Club at an elementary school in Pennsylvania as an alternative to the Joy El Christian club was shot down by an angry mob who showed up in droves at their local school board meeting on Tuesday. Although hell-fearing Christian extra-curricular activities are permitted at Northern York Elementary School in Dillsburg, the same doesn't go for the Satan Club — "which will focus on free inquiry and rationalism" — that was founded by the Satanic Temple, a recognized religion in the United States since 2019. ...

All but one board member opposed the formation of the club. Hundreds of community members attended the two-hour meeting to discuss the age of the children the club would target, cultural and biblical issues attached to the possible formation of such a club and the content on the Satanic Temple's website for the program.

"Look at the range of our students the children suffering from mental health issues, suicide, anxiety, depression all these things are off the chart and my heart goes out to these kids," one resident at the meeting said. "More than ever we need a God in this world and this proposal in the opposite direction." …

Supportive parents mentioned how the formation of the club was a constitutional right. …

A reminder that this is the land of the anti-evolution landmark case of Kitzmiller vs Dover. (Not same school district but same county). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kitzmiller_v._Dover_Area_School_District

It's a conservative area of Christian, white-privilege ignoramuses.

Since it was founded in 2013, The Satanic Temple has spread across the United States and throughout the world. Unlike other forms of Satanism, The Satanic Temple is highly politically active. It has invoked religious freedom to campaign for easier access to abortion, exemption from laws that allow administering corporal punishment to students, and implementing Satanic after-school clubs in elementary schools. While this group remains highly controversial, it is poorly understood. This book provides a detailed history of The Satanic Temple’s history, beliefs, and culture as well as the numerous political and legal battles this group has undertaken. The author suggests that the lasting impact of The Satanic Temple is the way their campaigns have affected national conversations about such topics as the definition of religion, religious freedom, and religious tolerance.
