Northern lights are active again over Morecambe bay from the local face book
the bright lights on the horizon are at Barrow about 18 miles away.

No sign of them from Otley Chevin this evening.

My friend posted this; apparently it is STEVE, a newly identified kind of aurora.
Seen last night at a fireworks display in Easingwold.

When my friend posted this, my daughter jumped in her car and drove out into the hills and saw it too.

This was on the local Face ache last night looking out over Morecambe Bay,
lots of solar activity yesterday many reports of problems with mobile phones
and internet in the areas.
