I once found a youtube video where someone had edited all the bits where Pipes appears.

At one point he's at the back of the crowd outside.

Very well thought out supernatural horror.

I/'d love to see more stuff done in this way. It was groundbreaking. The BBC are too spineless to try anything like that again though.

The recent blu ray limited edition release has a copy of the script as an extra, I'll have a read and see if it mentions when Pipes should be in shot. The version of the script is before they knew who all the presenters would be, but there is a scribbled note about Parky.

I don't think it's a matter of the Beeb being spineless, if you consider the public outrage at the time.
The BBC is always under attack so they need as much public support as they can get.
