You've not had a real snowball fight until you come out of it looking like these @Princeton students from January 1893. A fraction of those injured, the blizzard battle involved 250 students - sophomores vs freshmen, obviously - and went on for two days. #beastfromtheast #snowuk

I went to a business thingy in the Californian mountains and we got into seriously competitive snowball fights with each other, all grown and sensible professional adults. I've got a very good left arm (from much cricket and Eton Fives I tell you) and at one point, two of my colleagues opted to make and supply me with ammo while I pasted the opposition at about 60 feet range. Best bit of the trip...

There is a light dusting of snow here in Morecambe and the crazy bastards are going out in it. Some are panic buying too, you would think that it was a three day walk across the Arctic Tundra to civilisation for gods sake.

Inside a starship, watching puny humans from afar
I got in a supply of baked beans. Hopefully I won't get snowed in.

The start of Abel Gance's silent epic Napoleon suggests his titular tyrant learned all about the strategies of war from the intense snowball fights he got into at school.

Sky was bright but as soon as I went out the door at 5.45 pm it started to snow. This swiftly turned into a blizzard and the sky darkened. But I got to the cinema via tram and enjoyed seeing Lady Bird. No snow but freezing cold on the way home. Real feel is -9 C and I felt it.

When I was over in Canada, a brisk -28degC was laughed at (ideally from indoors, but nomatter, eh).

Now the British Stiff Upper Lip is being frozen solid by -4degC. The whole of the British Isles is an empty frozen wasteland, everyone has taken the kids out of school and gone to that villa of Uncle Frank's over in Cyprus, and just bought the very-last can of pineapple chunks from the Co-op.

The lights are going out all over Europe...goodbye all, we're doomed.

Except....this is an 'issue' because the normally-clement south-east shores of Engerland are being afflicted for a change, instead of just Scotlandanavia. Even Londinium itself may see some actual real genuine snow (shock/horror)...perhaps as much as of 0.5mm on Thursday...

Wake up you sleepy head
Put on some clothes, shake up your bed
Put another log on the fire for me
I've made some breakfast and coffee
Look out my window and what do I see
A crack in the sky and a hand reaching down to me
All the nightmares came today
And it looks as though they're here to stay

That lad in that REM video was/is called Noah Ray I've just learned btw and has his own band called 'Music Hates You', he's probably as famous as the baby swimming boy on Nirvana's Nevermind album cover in his own way ..

Another casualty of the Great 2018 Snopocalypse.

RIP tea, you'll be missed.
