'Clairvoyant' bus driver dismissed

A “clairvoyant” bus driver in Dundee refused to pick up children queueing at a bus stop because he sensed that something bad would happen.

The National Express Dundee employee’s vehicle left the youngsters at the side of the road during the school run.

He has now been dismissed after telling company bosses he failed to stop because he is clairvoyant. He had a premonition that something bad would happen and decided to keep on driving.

Dundee City Council’s education convener Stewart Hunter told of his concern that children had been left at the side of the road and would have been late for school.

Mr Hunter praised the bus firm, saying: “It’s good National Express has taken action and I’m sure they would be concerned too about kids not being picked up.”

The driver was not available for comment when The Courier called at his house but it is understood he intends to appeal the company’s decision.

A spokeswoman for National Express Dundee declined to comment.

There have been a series of dismissals from the firm over the past year.

One driver was sacked for making an obscene hand gesture at a bus-spotter, while another allegedly covered up a CCTV camera with a bus ticket.

 In Brum you need to be a clairvoyant to know when the bus is coming!

He was right! Something bad did happen!

He got fired.

Maybe he only lets people on if they rap on the window.

''St.Mary's via the Town Centre? Knock once for yes...''

If you've seen the Final Destination movies, then essentially these kids have cheated death...

And Death will come after them one-by-one
