..and, if Beckjord was to be believed, would keep Islamic extremists at bay. I like your thinking, Jon ;).

War on Terror

Re the so called War on Terror, is this a deliberate misnomer and are we in reality in the early stages of World War 3 where East versus West with religions being used as the tools of the "munitions" factories in the West and Near and Middle East which will eventually lead to the forecast Armageddon?

18-month-old baby yanked from airplane for being on no-fly list
Published time: 10 May, 2012 18:44Edited time: 10 May, 2012 22:44

The 18-month old daughter of two New Jersey-born Americans of Middle Eastern descent was reportedly the reason for sending Transportation Security Administration agents onto an about-to-depart plane in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida this week. The parents of the girl, who wish to remain anonymous, say the entire incident is absurd.

Riyanna’s mother tells Fort Lauderdale’s WPBF 25 News that she was approached by an airline employee late Tuesday while onboard a JetBlue plane readying for departure. According to her, she was informed that TSA agents were waiting to speak with the family back inside the terminal.

"And I said, 'For what?'" Riyanna's mother tells the network. "And he said, 'Well, it's not you or your husband. Your daughter was flagged as no fly.’”

“I said, 'Excuse me?'" the mother recalls.

Perhaps she's one of those 'baby-boomers' we've all been hearing about.

They first started using the term "War on terror" back in 2001 or so. If that was the purpose, then they are sure taking their sweet time.

A DISABLED war veteran was told his mobility scooter could be seen as a terrorist threat after he left it unattended in a shopping centre.

Ninety-six-year-old Frank Curtis, who was blown up in World War II and helped liberate Belsen concentration camp, sometimes leaves

his scooter parked in The Spires, in High Street, Barnet, while he nips off for a bite to eat or does some shopping.

But when he returned to it recently he found a note from the centre’ s management telling him to stop “dumping” his property unattended and that it was not acceptable “in light of current world terrorist events”.

Romantic comedy has indeed been known to induce terror in its many victims. :D

The war on terror? It's not supposed to end.

I think you may be right.
If it ended, the arms manufacturers and their shareholders would be terribly displeased...no more champers and caviar.

When people say this, in a semi-rhetorical manner, I do wish that they literally believed that this unholy state of affairs does exist....the selling arms to opposition goverments, training those opposition armies....and then fighting/beating what were former customers. And charge them for the rebuild.

Consequently, everyone should be much-more skeptical about much of the world news media outputs. Seriously: in a true "I don't believe what I'm being told" fashion.

All through the time we were at war with what was termed Al Queda, supposedly led by an (openly-admitted) former CIA agent now allegedly dropped in the ocean, did anyone even mention the growing threat from what Is called ISIS. Or ISIL, IS...or maybe Daesh?

Californication

Psychic spies from China
Try to steal your mind's elation
And little girls from Sweden
Dreams of silver screen quotation
And if you want these kind of dreams
It's Californication

It's the edge of the world
And all of western civilization
The sun may rise in the East
At least it settles in the final location
It's understood that Hollywood
Sells Californication

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Celebrity skin is this your chin
Or is that war your waging?

First born unicorn
Hard core soft porn
Dream of Californication
Dream of Californication

Marry me girl be my fairy to the world
Be my very own constellation
A teenage bride with a baby inside
Getting high on information
And buy me a star on the boulevard
It's Californication

Space may be the final frontier
But it's made in a Hollywood basement
Cobain can you hear the spheres
Singing songs off station to station
And Alderaan's not far away
It's Californication

Born and raised by those who praise
Control of population everybody's been there and I don't mean on vacation

Dream of Californication

Destruction leads to a very rough road
But it also breeds creation
And earthquakes are to a girl's guitar
They're just another good vibration
And tidal waves couldn't save the world
From Californication

Pay your surgeon very well
To break the spell of aging
Sicker than the rest
There is no test
But this is what you're craving

I do believe that, because that is exactly what goes on.

Leaving a note about the old guy’s scooter, really get a life. I have half a notion to recommend trashing the bugger for bothering the elderly war hero. Anyone who’s liberated those prison camps has witnessed the worse form of terrorism that ever existed.

There will always be a BogeyMan an enemy, someone to sell the old weapons too, so they can test out the new drones etc etc.

god dammit we need to buy new stuff now... just like the lastest IPhone...

“This is the first [AI] system of that quality that has successfully completed the tests and has been passed on to the client. The technology is being readied for installation on real life robotic systems, both civilian and in the military, including unmanned aerial vehicles,” OPK Deputy Director Sergey Skokov said.

“The software system has passed all the [governmental] commissions,” Skokov stressed.

^^^ this, must always be remembered. Even very intelligent people seem to forget this. No matter how realistic the scares are, whether it's a 4 minute warning, or an incontravertable chemical weapons capability, there is always a dimension of potential falsity or irrelevancy that is tacticaĺly omitted.

It’s a human design and can only react in the way the way it was programmed and build to do. People give too much credit to the hardware and not enough to the designers, scientist and engineers who are responsible for any automated defense systems.

We (the Americans) are still considerably ahead of the Russians, Chinese, etc. in: signal processing, imaging, software development, robotics, EMD, EMW, etc.

What concern me is the way that British Prime minister Cameron is-been dramatically cutting the British defense budget.

A British man was removed from a plane by armed police at Luton airport after a fellow passenger read a message on his mobile phone about “prayer” and reported him as a security threat.

Laolu Opebiyi, 40, from London, said he was forced to hand over his phone and supply his password in order to establish his innocence after he tried to arrange a conference call prayer with friends using WhatsApp.

A detective subsequently questioned and cleared Opebiyi but the pilot refused to allow him back on to the easyJet flight to Amsterdam last Thursday and he was forced to wait more than three hours for the next scheduled departure.

The Nigerian-born Christian believes the passenger next to him assumed he was a Muslim and jumped to the conclusion that he may be a terrorist.

“That guy doesn’t know me and within two minutes he’s judging me,” he told the Guardian. “Even if I was a Muslim, it was pretty unfair the way I was treated. I don’t think anyone, irrespective of their religion should be treated in such a way.

“If we keep on giving into this kind of bigotry and irrational fear, I dare say that the terrorists will have achieved their aim.”

A bit reactionary don't you think.

Pope Francis tells of his 'profound shock and sadness' after four of Mother Teresa's nuns were among 16 people shot dead at a care home in Yemen
  • Gunmen entered retirement home in Aden and handcuffed victims before shooting them in the head
  • Pope Francis called the attack an 'act of senseless and diabolical violence'
  • A nun survived hiding inside a fridge in a storeroom after hearing a Yemeni guard shouting, 'Run, run'
  • Nuns were from the order established by Mother Teresa, who will soon be made a saint

More to follow.

Quite a lot of reports re: FBI acting as agents provocateur in these situations. Although, I have to wonder about the people who fall foul of these stings. I think most people would run a mile and then call the cops if an acquaint ensue tried to get them involved in a terrorist attack...

They seem to target the sad and the mad rather than the really dangerous. Cutting corners may allow real jihadis to get away.
