Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Conspiracy Theories & Claims

The more they do this, the more guilty they look. Stupidity in action.

China never did explain why there has been such an enormous increase in crematorium activity in 2020.
The real death toll from Covid throughout the totalitarian state has been widely estimated at between 15 and 40 times the "official" figures.
We know the figures released by the Chinese Communist Party are complete bullshit. I suspect most of the free world does too. But dare to question them in China and that's you sent off for re-education (or worse).

I think that you are both being very cruel about China. Professor Neil "Think of a Number, Any Number" Ferguson of SAGE was inspired by the efforts of the Communist Chinese, as is recorded in his interview with the Times:

"Back in 2019, about the time someone was getting infected by a bat, no European country’s pandemic plans seriously entertained the prospect of putting a country on pause [lockdown].

Then, that’s what China did. “I think people’s sense of what is possible in terms of control changed quite dramatically between January and March,” Professor Ferguson says
."

And:

In January, members of Sage, the government’s scientific advisory group, had watched as China enacted this innovative intervention in pandemic control that was also a medieval intervention.

“They claimed to have flattened the curve. I was sceptical at first. I thought it was a massive cover-up by the Chinese. But as the data accrued it became clear it was an effective policy.”

Then, as infections seeded across the world, springing up like angry boils on the map, Sage debated whether, nevertheless, it would be effective here. “It’s a communist one party state, we said. We couldn’t get away with it in Europe, we thought.” In February one of those boils raged just below the Alps. “And then Italy did it. And we realised we could.”

So, hooray.

Sorry Max - I am clearly in need of some "re-education"!

Ooh! I'd better tell her my safe term before she gets "cracking".
D'you reckon "Political rehabilitation" is a bit long?

I'd go for 用冬青樹枝把大廳鋪好, it's more seasonal. And, as I can't speak Chinese, I'd never get it out successfully. ("Oooh, matron!")

There was a gathering of about 40 people in Aylesbury Market Square this afternoon under the banner 'Covid 19 Fraud' - no masks, no distancing. I was more engrossed in my take-away bacon butty than what was being shouted, but did pick up on passerbys being told they were delusional simply for wearing a mask. The guist of the rally was that lockdown was bad for local business (I can't disagree), more people died last year than this year (maybe 'cos we didn't have masks and distancing last year) and the most common cause of death was thirst. I assume they meant the 'nil by mouth' Liverpool Pathway policy employed by Hospitals in terminal cases (both parents went that way because Doctors aren't allowed to give morphine overdoses). This was described as genocide. (more evocative than geriatricide). Then something about Big Business, people with higher education making them more susceptible to towing the line and it was time to Wake Up !. It was actually time for me to move on as it was bitterly cold. Yes I was cynical, I may be an idiot but don't like being told so through a megaphone by another idiot.

...(maybe 'cos we didn't have masks and distancing last year)...

Why would we have had? Despite relentless propaganda to the contrary, it’s not “normal”; not even “the new normal”.

Last year people died, as they always have died, of heart disease (not contagious), Alzheimer’s (ditto), cancer (mostly ditto), etc.

This year, they’re dying of heart disease, Alzheimer’s, cancer AND THEY TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID!

I have seen a marked change in behaviour this year whilst travelling to London. People (mostly) now wear masks, sit apart, cover their mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing (parents finally setting an example to children), no spitting, no rush-hour crush. I'm not an expert on virology or water droplet-borne diseases, but I assumed (or maybe hoped) the incidences of coughs, colds, flu and worse would be less this year than last year - and ditto the corresponding deaths in the vunerable groups.

You are correct in saying that many people who are reported as dying of Covid-19 will be people who have died and just happened to have had it. However, some simple maths shows that this is only a small number of the total reported Covid-19 deaths.

Average no of annual deaths in UK = 500,000 (0.75% of pop)
Estimated no of infections this year = 10,000,000 (15% of pop)
Average no of people testing positive within any given 28 day period = 750,000 (just over 1% of pop)

Multiplying the number of people who would have died this year anyway by the percentage of all people who can be expected to have tested positive within 28 days of their death comes out at under 6,000.

This shows that over 90% of people included in the official death tally (71,000 so far) have died sooner than they otherwise would have.

Why? Because, statistically, only around 1% of natural deaths are likely to have coincidentally tested positive for Covid-19 within the previous 28 days and as a result be included in the official figures.

Wouldn't that assume completely random testing among the populace? Rather than testing being done on people in hospitals etc?

To those who actually want to know something about viruses but are not scientists I would suggest reading pages 38 to 42 of Bill Bryson's book 'The Body, a guide for occupants'. Better yet, read the whole chapter (on microbiology) or the whole book. (Pagination from the UK paperback.)

It may assist at a first-order level in working out what might be true and what is preposterous twaddle. And certainly indicates how hopelessly over-simplified is what most people are saying about viruses. Either with particular reference to the current outbreak or in general. Including supposedly informed people both in the MSM and the Establishment in general - at least in what they are telling the public.

I know Bill Bryson is not a scientist but he is a very experienced old-school journalist and author, and his science-related books he gets reviewed by scientists before publication. Moreover, it was published in 2019 so not tainted by any of this year's controversy. Remember coronaviruses were about in 2019, just not this particular one. It's obviously no substitute for a career in virology (something no-one on SAGE has had either) but it is quite informative - even startling.

I read the book when it first came out but as usual I'd managed to forget most of it, at least in my conscious mind - i daresay some of it has been lurking around in my subconscious. I've just started re-reading it.

It is also fabulous as an audio book, being read by Bill himself.

One of the rules you should live your life by.

Ha! We don't need no steenking DNA altering sterilising vaccine - all we need is this stuff.

https://h2o-e3.thanedirect.co.uk

Kills 99.99% of all viruses including coronavirus.

My bullshit detector just emitted a horrible screeching noise and then exploded.

Firstly bleach kills 99.9% of germs but we wouldn’t want to be injecting it!

But reading this you’re just electrolysing (basically) sea water. Doing that gives mostly oxygen and hydrogen with small amounts of sodium hydroxide and chlorine, not the claimed compounds on the web page.

They also contradict themselves saying at one point it does kill Covid 19 and the at another point that it doesn’t. The only reports seem to be from customers no scientific investigation of the efficacy of the machine.

I think Cochise is more than right in having an exploding bullshit detector on reading this!

This is a UK source right? Because in the US there are several agencies she can be reported to who will shut down the PR in an instant and charge her with several crimes.

It’s is a U.K. based website.

The Desiree Chub they mention is their tame scientist, they describe her as an analytical chemist, her specific field is actually brewing.

Doing a web search for her yields no results (apart from a bunch of dodgy porn links).
