Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19): Conspiracy Theories & Claims

From Twitter. Interesting observation:

@YRDeshmukh -
So according to the much celebrated global media outlets, the Corona variants are Brazil variant, South Africa variant, UK variant, India variant and so on, but the original virus is just Covid. Not Chinese. Let that sink in. Well played China. Well played.

So how many people were killed by a toaster this week in India?
I dunno, but I also don't know how many died of Covid-19.

How were they counting that? Did they count people who didn't actually die of it like several other places have that got mentioned earlier?

Instead people carry on about how we shouldn't even talk about Wuhan for fear it might inspire racially motivated violence... really?

This is a terrible shame - I think it is necessary to have a discussion with, and about, China. For the sake of humanity, for the sake of learning, for the sake of prevention - we need a tough, honest discussion. What happened? What didn't happen? What things can we put in place to prevent something like this happening again? How can we manage things better?

This is not an exercise in apportioning blame. Unless that is necessary. It is an exercise in keeping humanity safer.

No discussion- no learning.

Have you all been reading Fortean Times? It IS looking more and more like it did come from a lab according the US Defense Department. Doesn't make it intentional or a bioweapon.

They're counting it by the hundreds of thousands of victims who have expressed symptoms and tested positive. Around 128 thousand have died in Britain. If 129 thousand people have died from toasters since last year, it's time we got these menaces out of the kitchen.

China's reaction to Australia's suggestion to investigate the origin of the virus, is all the information we need to put the blame correctly.

It is interesting that Daszak was involved in funding corona virus research at Wuhan as well as going there with the WHO team to seek the origins of the virus. A man who, if he found a link between lab and virus, might face criminal charges.

Yeah, the part that makes me REALLY suspicious, is that the "it's not China's fault" mantra.... got spread around by official sources back before any real discussion even started.

Ideally you'd have officials do an honest investigation into what happened. What we've gotten so far is akin to letting wolves oversee hiring shepherds.

It almost sounds like a good way to do it when you phrase it that way. There are some problems, as was discussed on a previous page in great detail. To me the most significant is that to call someone a Covid-19 casualty implies they'd still be alive if they hadn't contracted the disease, and more so that the disease caused them to die. Is that actually the case with the reported casualty figures? As mentioned earlier... some methods of counting Covid related deaths(such as in Britain)... don't actually care what the cause of death is. Instead you get marked a casualty just because you were exposed to the virus.

I think this should be a fairly basic and uncontraversial wish. We need to learn from what happened. It concerns me that, so far, this seems to be off the agenda, and I don't know why.

No. People who died with covid were counted as dying of covid. Not the same thing. I genuinely don't understand why most countries did this. I would be willing to be that this is no longer being done in the UK at least, hence the dramatic decrease in "covid deaths" that can support the ending of lockdown restrictions.

According to the news they are still counting people dying within 28 days of a positive covid test

Anybody looked into "long covid" some of it looks legitimate but it seems like a lot of random stuff (even acne on teens) is being attributed to it... there's a super sketchy site called long covid kids (.org) which I won't link to because it seems very suspect. I found this article suggesting a skeptical approach to Long Covid

I'm thinking this may be the new "Lyme disease" where anything and everything gets attributed to it

Yeah some of the "long Covid" stuff is just random symptoms that were observed in patients. Is it a coincidence? No idea. The need for further research is indicated. But in the meantime it'll get used as a reason to tell people they'll get crippled for life if they get Covid. There are KNOWN methods(such as lung tissue damage) where that can happen, but it's not the same thing.

As was mentioned before in this thread, it seems the Wuhan lab was not acting alone. It appears that WHO and the US CDC were cooperating with them in some capacity. Which is why I made that analogy about the wolves choosing who gets to be a shepherd. The investigation is being done by people who have no desire or reason to do a real investigation. They're in a position where they have to choose between looking out for their own interests and investigating.

Belgian police have been searching for fugitive soldier Jurgen C for two days. The shooting instructor is on the terrorist list because of far-right sympathies. Belgian authorities call him an acute danger and issued an official APB on Wednesday.

The flemish top virologist Marc Van Ranst, who is in hiding, argues that action groups, such as Virus truth in the Netherlands and Virus delusion in Belgium, are partly to blame for the fact that in Belgium a man is a fugitive who is targeting him. "In society, a breeding ground has been created where words from politicians and opinion-makers can one day become deeds," he said wednesday from his safe house in conversation with NU.nl.

Belgian police issued an official search notice on Wednesday in the search for fugitive Jurgen C. The soldier, who has threatened virologists, among others, has been missing for two days.

Police emphasize that C. may be in possession of firearms. 'In the event of a finding, the police must be informed immediately, without coming into contact with the person concerned.'

The man is described as a muscular man 6ft tall. He's bald and has multiple tattoos. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a dark-colored Timberland-branded T-shirt.

C. poses a 'serious and very imminent' danger, according to the Belgian authorities. The threat level around his person was raised on Wednesday to the highest in Belgium. The overall threat level remains 'average', says the Belgian counterpart of the NCTV.

Fugitive Belgian soldier allegedly explored target as early as Monday night

Jürgen Conings, the armed Belgian soldier who has been on the run for four days, is said to have been at a potential target as early as Monday evening, Belgian Justice Minister Vincent Van Quickenborne said at a press conference on Friday. According to VRT, this would be Marc Van Ranst, the virologist who is staying in a secure location as a precaution.

Conings is said to have held himself up around the target for two hours and then turned right for an unknown reason.
'It's someone who's very dangerous, and it's no coincidence that he's on the terrorist list. He wants to use violence against society, against our citizens," van Quickenborne said.

On Friday, it was also confirmed that the soldier had hidden a booby trap in his car.
Meanwhile, the manhunt for the soldier has been going on for four days.

Not only the Belgian virologist Marc Van Ranst, but also a mosque in eisden (municipality of Maasmechelen) in Belgium, would be a target of the fugitive Belgian soldier Jürgen Conings.

He is also said to have explored the mosque, as he would have previously explored the surroundings of Van Ranst's house.

In his farewell letter, the armed soldier writes that he did everything he could to prevent this situation, but that he did not succeed, according to Het Nieuwsblad. Conings says he "can't and won't go on with what the future looks like now" and denounces Belgian politicians and virologists, who he says hate speech and "determine how we live."

The soldier seems to have accepted that Belgian authorities will capture him. He writes that he is aware that he has become an enemy of the state and does not seem to fear a possible death.

Conings' girlfriend called on the fugitive soldier on national television on Friday night to surrender. "If you're still alive, don't kill. Make the story end, that it stops."

The Belgian Minister of Justice, Vincent Van Quickenborne, is very concerned about possible violent incidents. "He walks around with weapons of war and has the explicit objective of making victims," the justice minister said.

Conings' seized vehicle was found to have a booby trap hidden inside. It is unclear what detonator was found in the car, but Quickenborne confirmed that war munitions had been placed to kill.

Support for the fugitive soldier has also emerged in recent days. In the Facebook group Als 1 achter Jürgen (As one behind Jurgen), 23,000 sympathizers have gathered.

I couldn't resist looking at the Facebook fanclub page:

1621684831009.png

There's a civil Facebook war going on this group between pro- and anti- voices, with the usual social media venom.
There are anti politics, anti immigrant, anti vax and even bitcoin (!) people discussing this.
And I translate a part from one of the - calmer and more reasonable - recent posts, to give an impression of the support:

A soldier whose new fitness business is in danger of being bottled up by corona measures, from a few threats, writes farewell letters, and disappears. (with or but not with stolen weapons).
This soldier who has participated in various missions, who has worked for his country for years, is now being hunted down as state enemy number 1, the media has already condemned him as a terrorist.

I myself am thinking about this for a moment, because I too, like so many soldiers, have participated in operational missions, and like so many others I sometimes use harsh language to make my views clear and defend them, and like so many others I also dislike the dictatorship of Van Ranst [the virologist]. I too, like so many others, dislike the incompetent political leaders in Belgium.

The conditions in which you are deployed are often blurry, there is no front as such, the man who embraces you today fires a rocket at your compound tomorrow. The boy who greets you at the gate throws rocks at your car the next day. The enemy no longer has a recognizable uniform, everyone you see can have bad intentions.

And then you come home, after four, six or nine months of absence, and you notice that so much has changed in your own country, you have to relearn with your partner, you get ahead of the prices of gasoline and food that have skyrocketed. you have to go through some kind of detox period, and this detox lasts longer and longer per additional mission.

These colleagues, these people who are facing these kinds of problems, should not be put on a list of radicalised, these colleagues need specialist help and guidance, primarily by their own colleagues and chefs and secondly by specialist aid workers.

We can spend money to stop Islam radicalisation but we can't spend money to help radicalised people who have been so committed to their country. Belgium should be deeply ashamed!

From CNN and Politico reports that Dr. Fauci said that it is true that U.S. dollars was funding coronavirus studies at the Wuhan lab

Fauci says you go where the action is.

What just now came to light was Wuhan employees were sick in November 2019 instead of the reported December 2019.

My opinion is you don’t know who you are sleeping with.

Reports from France that social media influencers are being offered money to spread negative news about pfizer.

Several French social media influencers say they have received a mysterious financial offer to spread negative publicity about the Pfizer vaccine.

They say an agency claiming to be based in the UK has contacted them by email offering a "partnership".

Léo Grasset, who has 1.17m YouTube subscribers, tweeted (in French) that a "colossal budget" was promised from a client "who wants to remain incognito".

He said that the address the agency had given appeared to be bogus.

It absolutely started earlier (this article is June last year). I would not be surprised if it's eventually accepted that lab interaction with animals was the outbreak point, and I'm pretty tired of the people who insist on saying that this means it's okay to blame China for causing it, with "intentionally" being optional and synonymous there (which in my experience are the same people claiming that the medical community here in the US-- and I mean doctors, not insurance companies-- deliberately are letting people die so that they can make money treating them).
People who don't want to separate cause from intention are absolutely an issue here. Analyzing for preventative precautions in the future isn't the same thing as proclaiming who should be punished-- the whole point is to... not make it about that, so you can have better policies.

Biden will be at the G-7 meeting in Cornwall on June 11th with Putin.

Then Biden and Putin will meet in Geneva June 16th.

Some think this China controversy has something to do with China not wanting Biden and Putin to get to comfortable ?

Cornwall is happy everyone is coming to them.
