Corpse Mishandling

Very worrying he reached the age of 67 without being stopped/getting help/being locked away in a high security "hospital".
Apparently the youngest girl was 9 and the oldest was a 100 year old woman :(

Maradona Was Buried Without His Heart So Soccer Fans Wouldn’t Steal It

Diego Maradona, the long-time heart and soul of Argentine soccer, is apparently buried without one of those things. After his November 2020 death, the soccer star was reportedly buried without his heart, according to a new book about his health written by an Argentine doctor and journalist.

iu

In his unreleased book, Nelson Castro reportedly claims that Maradona’s heart was removed prior to his burial to stop soccer fans from raiding his grave and stealing it.

Castro appeared on Argentine television to promote the book this week—‘La salud de Diego: la verdadera historia’ (Diego’s health: The True Story)—and made the startling claim about an alleged plan to retrieve Maradona’s heart.

“There was a group of [fans of the Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata team] that planned to break in and extract his heart,” said Castro. “It was detected that this was going to happen so his heart was removed.”

Parents report after seance at children's graves in Leusden
A group of 42 parents has reported grave desecration after a séance at rusthof cemetery in Leusden.

The complaint is directed against six members of a spiritual group who held the séance on September 11. Charges have also been filed against the director of the cemetery who gave permission for the ritual, reports RTV Utrecht.

There is still a lot of uncertainty about what happened at the cemetery. It is certain that a spiritual group gathered in the dark at children's graves. The group would have tried to get in touch with the spirits of deceased children.

The case came to light because a father found a camera left behind at his child's grave. In the images he saw unknown adults who had gathered in the dark at the children's graves.

Not long after the incident came into the public eye, Mayor Lucas Bolsius apologized. In a letter to the relatives, he stated that "a group of spiritual people" with the permission of the director of the cemetery was researching the energies of deceased people. That happened outside opening hours because it is quieter then.

In October, the municipality held a meeting where relatives could ask questions. According to many parents, real answers were not forthcoming. That is why they are now choosing to go to court.

Before the group declaration, two parents already reported grave desecration individually. The two also want the congregation to disclose the identities of the members of the spiritual group. "I have a weird taste of it in my mouth. Why are you so secretive?", says one of the two, Floor Drost-Laabidi, at RTV Utrecht.

At the end of October it was announced that the National Ombudsman will investigate the séance. After that research, the congregation is considering bringing parents who wish to do so into contact with the spiritual group. But Drost-Laabidi takes too long. "We don't want any more postponement. This just keeps muddling along. It really doesn't make any sense like that," he says. Together with his wife Radia, Floor has two daughters who are at Rusthof.

A follow-up:

The director of Rusthof cemetery in Leusden, who gave permission for a séance at the cemetery without the knowledge of relatives, has been suspended. Mayor Bolsius of Amersfoort informs the city council and relatives of deceased people who are buried in the cemetery.

A group of adults gathered on the evening of September 11 at a part of the cemetery where children are buried. The group would have tried to get in touch with the spirits of deceased children.

The session came to light when a father found a camera at his child's grave with images on it. He then made contact with Mayor Bolsius. The municipality of Amersfoort, manager of the cemetery and ultimately responsible, was not aware of the meeting.

Relatives reacted with shock and reported grave desecration against the group that held the séance and against the director of the cemetery. Furthermore, two parents filed a lawsuit against the municipality, in which they demanded that more information be released about what had happened at the cemetery on September 11.

Just before the summary proceedings were to start, Amersfoort decided to give the e-mails to the couple under secrecy. The group with other relatives then successfully demanded that the information be disclosed to all parents. That is what happened this afternoon.

RTV Utrecht has seen the e-mails and it becomes clear what the group of six 'researchers' had in mind when they asked the cemetery director for permission to enter the cemetery after closing time. The aim was to be able to demonstrate paranormal activity with, among other things, "special cameras and sensors".

The team described itself in a message from May 19 as "very serious and not a showbiz channel" and promised with "great respect for the deceased and the cemetery" to have a maximum of four to five adults participate in the study. In a later e-mail of 18 August, eight people suddenly mentioned, a number that could be reduced to six at the request of the cemetery.

Floor and Radia Drost-Laabidi, the couple who had filed a lawsuit against the municipality, say in an initial reaction to RTV Utrecht that reading about the intentions of the group offers some relief. They do not understand what they consider to be highly questionable activities, but their anger is mainly directed at those who have given permission for them.

According to Floor, the information in the e-mail messages is also at odds with what the municipality has previously communicated. He says that the cemetery director at a meeting for relatives claimed when asked that he did not know that cameras would be used. From the request of the spiritual group it appears that there has been explicit correspondence about this.

The National Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the role of the municipality of Amersfoort in the case. The report is expected in two weeks. As long as the outcome of the investigation is not yet clear, the director of Rusthof will not exercise his function, mayor Bolsius said.

"Gloomy departure in Ecuador: they take the corpse out of the coffin and ride it on a motorcycle down the street."

(All translated by Google...)

In the middle of the funeral, friends and family doused with alcoholic beverages the coffin of Erick Cedeño, 21, who was killed while on his way to the wake of a friend of his.

His friends took the body out of the coffin and put it on a motorcycle to ride it down the street in full view of the dozens of passers-by.

But the goodbye went further and they chose to take the body out of the coffin to ride it on the motorcycle as part of a 'last trip'.

There is to be an enquiry into how deceased patients' bodies are treated in UK hospitals.
This is partly due to the campaigning of the McGinley family.

Maureen McGinley died in December 2006 of natural causes at 78 in a Londonderry hospital. Her body was taken to Belfast for a post-mortem where it was found to have sustained more than 30 fractures after death.

The cause of the injuries has not been ascertained although there seems to have been negligence rather than malice.

McGinley family told what happened to mother's body

Last autumn, the family said they had been told by a former hospital employee that bodies were being transported on trolleys with boxes on top of them.

Relatives have been campaigning for an independent inquiry into what happened.

Internal inquiries at Altnagelvin Hospital and the Coroner's Office have failed to establish who was responsible for the fractures.

Former deputy secretary of state Paul Goggins and Health Minister Michael McGimpsey previously recommended a joint investigation by the Northern Ireland and parliamentary Ombudsman into the January 2007 death.

Mr McGinley said it had been a relief to finally find out the truth.

"What happened to my mother's body was an accident, and hopefully all this will come out within weeks.

“It is estimated that 30% of the patients that have received CPR will end up with a fractured rib or a broken sternum. Multiple ribs may also break but this is a small price to pay when a life is being saved.

Elderly patients are more likely to suffer from a rib injury than younger patients, as their bones are more fragile.”

This Ohio man has been mishandling both corpses and the ashes of cremated corpses, though he disputes whether storing more than 7 dozen sets of ashes in an old abandoned church constitutes mishandling.
‘Urban explorer’ finds 89 sets of ashes in abandoned church

Ohio investigators have found the cremated remains of 89 people stored in boxes and bags at an abandoned church in Akron, authorities said.

The remains were seized at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church on Tuesday by investigators from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, attorney general spokesperson Steve Irwin said Thursday.

The church is owned by Shawnte Hardin, 41, who faces 44 counts including racketeering, tampering with records, identity fraud and abuse of a corpse in Lucas County, over 100 miles from Akron.

Some of the charges are for alleged criminal violations in Franklin, Summit and Cuyahoga counties, where authorities say Hardin acted as an unlicensed funeral director. The cases were consolidated in Toledo. Hardin has pleaded not guilty.

Hardin’s attorney, Richard Kerger, said Thursday that a former funeral director named Robert Tate Jr. asked Hardin in 2017 to store the ashes of people whose families had not claimed them. ...

Tate pleaded no contest to one felony and three misdemeanor charges in November 2015 after authorities board found 11 bodies in various states of decay at his Toledo funeral home. He was sentenced to a week in jail and probation. He died in December at age 65. ...

Kerger disputed that the church was abandoned. He said Hardin has not been able to check on the building since being placed on home detention at his mother’s home in Columbus while awaiting trial.

Hardin was initially indicted on 37 counts in September after being accused of running an unlicensed funeral operation. The investigation began that same month after someone called 911 and reported seeing a corpse being moved from a van into a building. ...

Hardin told a Columbus television station at the time he was not acting as a funeral director but instead offered low cost services for transporting and washing dead bodies.

He was charged with seven additional counts, including abuse of a corpse in December. ...

Buyer of urn in thrift store notices that ash is still in it
A man accidentally bought a filled urn last week at a thrift store in Dieren, Gelderland. It is a solid brass cast urn in the shape of a tear that was for sale as an art object.

The buyer realized that it was an urn, but only later discovered that the ashes were still in it. The man, who would like to remain anonymous, has asked Rheden Nieuws to post a call on Facebook to rule out that it is a mistake. It is possible that the urn unintentionally ended up in a thrift store after it was taken from a household goods sale.

So far, no one has come forward. If there is no reaction, the buyer will eventually scatter the ashes somewhere, reports Omroep Gelderland.

Someone I knew years ago worked temporarily with corpses, arranging their hair, doing their makeup and dressing them.
She said every once in a while an arm or leg would move, or they would actually almost sit up. She was told that it was gases escaping the body, but she didn't last long on that job!
A funeral home owner told me that he didn't have any weird experiences with the dead, except for one time -
He was sitting at his office desk doing paperwork, no doors or windows were open in the facility and he was alone. Something went past his desk, he felt the air move as if some wind was rushing by him. Gave him the creeps.

Texas Dad Admits the Skeleton in His Kitchen Is Son Who Died in 2018

Police carrying out a welfare check on a home in east Texas were horrified to find skeletal remains being kept casually in the kitchen of a home owned by David McMichael.

McMichael, 67, said the remains were those of his son Jason, who had died ... in May 2018. Police did not say how old the son would have been when he died ...

Police say they were carrying out the check after a neighbor expressed concern for the son. In a press release, they say when they asked the elder McMichael if he knew why they were there, he said it was because of the corpse. ...

McMichael was booked on charges of abusing a corpse. The remains were taken to the Southwestern Institute of Forensic Sciences in Dallas to determine if the person, identified so far only as a male, had been murdered or died of some other unfortunate incident.

New Boston police, who are leading the investigation, say they are now interviewing relatives about the matter and that they do not have a missing-persons report about the man’s son.
