I suspect Myth is pulling your leg, Felid!

China is obviously culpable for this global plague, but I suspect it was down to an accidental leak from their Wuhan bio-research lab or a spontaneous outbreak, due to a lack of hygiene and revolting and cruel culinary practices.

China will be hit severely by this, particularly given that many countries are reconsidering their relationship with China and consumers may well implement a voluntary boycott of Chinese products.

That said, totalitarian dictatorships like China are perhaps better placed to come through draconian lockdowns simply because their people aren't used to the same freedoms that we enjoy.
There's enough right-wing nutjobs out there who do believe who are helping spread hate and fear.

Wet markets are awful as is factory farming and I think you have to be a hypocrite if you eat meat to be critical of one and not the other

I think it's counterproductive pointing the finger at the moment. This was the one chance the world had to come togather and we blew it. We had a real chance at breaking down some boundaries. Instead it's blame and hate.

But I don't eat meat.

Oh dear.

The president of Tanzania says he will send a plane to Madagascar to import a herbal tonic which has been touted as a cure for coronavirus by the country's president.

Congo-Brazzaville's president has also promised to import the drink.

It is produced from the artemisia plant - the source of an ingredient used in a malaria treatment.

The World Health Organization has said there is no proof of any cure and has advised people against self-medicating.
The drink was launched as Covid-Organics and was being marketed after being tested on fewer than 20 people over a period of three weeks, the president's chief of staff Lova Hasinirina Ranoromaro told the BBC.

No the most vocal ones including their political leader are right-wing. The same ones who are pushing against lockdowns.
Disagree. There are loud lunatics on the left as well. Currently they don't have control of the US or the UK but they are still around.

Lets just accept that fanatics of all flavours are bad news?

The first country to ease up on lockdown appears to be Spain - whose ruling faction is the Socialist Workers Party.

I sincerely hope we will have more sense and sit tight until it is definitely safe to do so.

I have no idea what you mean by saying my vegetarian lifestyle is "convenient".

Obviously unlike yourself though I cannot stand deliberate cruelty and I have no admiration for brutal totalitarian regimes.

What is "definitely safe"?
If the cases of Coronavirus start to rise significantly again in Spain, Italy and France, where there is huge pressure to ease the lockdown, then I hope we have the sense not to follow suit, but to sit tight until there is some positive news on the vaccine front.

Sorry to be a cunt but define "positive news"? There's already been plenty, human trials have begun here. If you mean TPTB telling you "the vaccine is defo coming in six months!" You might find that in six months it's still six months away and so on...

I really don't know where you're going with this Ogdred.

I certainly don't envy our government having to balance the severe economic effects against the potential mortality rate, but still believe it would be best to monitor carefully what happens in neighbouring European countries as they ease up on lockdown, before we make any decision.

Were all welcomed to our opions and beleifs but pls don't push them in any way on others.

Especially after we beat them in Vietnam.
The US Armed service never lost a battle or confrontation in the southeast asian war, I was there. It was a lawless southeastern asian country that was all Fu-ked up long before US arrived on the scene. So from a military standpoint we beat there ass. However it being a political war and not a win or loose war the US governments political BS and pressure from within lost the war (not the military).

You were sort of suggesting that China was involved in biowarfare. Surely that's an extreme fanatical belief?

I have no reason to doubt that you were, I wasn't even born. However, I'm pretty certain you weren't fighting the Chinese there. I was making a facetious/silly/stupid comment.
