Crypto Expedition

Can't find an appropriate thread for this, but Mr Biffo has posted his account of a crypto expedition to Guyana with Jon Downes:

There's other stuff too about being a writer, but the lengthy middle section is the bit you want. It sounds like an absolute farce, no matter that he bears nobody involved any ill will.

That was the toughest and least successful expedition we ever did. Capcom funded it but wanted us to go at a certain time to link it in with one of their game releases. Unluckily for us it was also the time of a drought worse than any the locals could remember. We were ko-ed by heat stroke and ripped apart by insects. I'd love to go back to Guyana but in the rainy season!

It certainly sounds tough, Mr Biffo got really unlucky (though the anecdotes are pure gold). Still, you live and learn, and I hope you remembered "safety first and always" from then on.
