The tentacles of Yog-Sothoth had got to him, I think.

A wrathful Cthuhlu will rise from the depths and wreak vengeance upon those who were too stingy to fork out for his statue.

I used to know an old hippie in Eugene who had a hobby of making exquisitely detailed Cthulhu figurines --and then burying them in places around Eugene, Oregon. I wish I had one of those statuettes now..

200 years later, someone digs one up. What happens then? Fun to contemplate.

200 years later and they'd probably know it was a fake based on HPL.
Digging one up 2000 or 20,000 years from now though? THAT would spark some interesting conversations!
'This lost civilisation worshipped an evil octopus god and these statues were part of a ritual' - or something like that.

In a best-case scenario and one that is not too unlikely in Eugene, another hippie tripping on something would find it, and have the most amazing experience of his / her life :nods:
