And the nature of Monkey was irrepressible.Male macaque monkey killed.
A member of a gang of monkeys that has terrorised residents of a Japanese city for weeks has been caught and killed, officials say.
The macaques have injured almost 50 people in Yamaguchi.
The male primate was found in the grounds of a high school on Tuesday evening by specially commissioned hunters. It was tranquilised and later put down when it was identified as one of the animals responsible for the attacks.
Authorities have been hunting the monkeys since the attacks began on adults and children about three weeks ago. Most injuries have been mild scratches and bites. Incidents are still being reported and the search continues for other members of the gang, an official at the local agricultural department told AFP.
"Eyewitnesses describe monkeys of different sizes, and even after the capture, we've been getting reports of new attacks," he said.
The captured monkey was estimated to be four years old and was about half a metre tall (1ft 7in).

Swimmers in central Japan have been warned of a dolphin suspected of biting multiple people, with local authorities encouraging visitors to stay away from the marine mammal.

A sign calling on visitors not to touch the dolphin was also placed on the beach.
According to local media, at least ten incidents involving dolphin bites have been reported to agents at this beach, which has officially opened for the tourist season since July 9. ...

The Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources said in a statement that the victim is a 60-year-old primary school teacher from California. The woman received lacerations to her face, arm and back, the agency said.
26 foot saltwater crocodile captured after eating man in Indonesia. Wish there was a picture or some film.
Its a bloody awful photo, but the croc isn't 26 feet, that's for sure, though the pic may be of one of the smaller ones. I wish it told us what happened to the crocs.A tabloid report of the same story, however, the images shown would suggest the croc (if this IS the one in question) is nowhere near 26ft.

Deputies from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office arrived on the scene just after 3am after a caller notified them that they could see someone with a mask and a flashlight in the church on its surveillance feed.
When sheriff’s deputies approached Simonson, they commanded him to put his hands up and lay face-down on the ground.
As Simonson complied with orders, a skunk ran onto the scene. The black-and-white mammal proceeded to spray Simonson unprompted.
‘A skunk came running around the corner, approached Simonson, and released its well-known and malodorous spray before fleeing the area,’ the sheriff’s office said.
That skunk needs to be recruited by the police.
Grant Simonson, 28, was detained last Thursday morning after he was caught rifling through a church’s audio equipment in Washington state.
Can you elaborate on the circumstance & how would you describe the smell?
Time to come clean - you were badgering the skunk weren’t you.. Get if off your chest man.I can only describe how a skunk's (spray's) smell smells to me. It's possible that it's sensed as "foul" in a different manner by different people who smell it.
The smell isn't "foul" in the same way that shit or something rotten seems "foul." It's more of an acrid aroma that irritates the nose rather than making one's stomach turn. For me it's like the acrid characteristic of burning rubber or plastic.

Sharon suffered a catalogue of other horror injuries, including 15 broken ribs, a punctured lung, a dislocated and shattered left ankle, a broken clavicle and severe bruising.
The five-minute onslaught only stopped when other walkers entered the field and distracted the cows.
A mountain rescue team rushed to the field after her friend phoned 999, and she was taken to hospital.
Sharon underwent two surgeries on her ankle and a month later was finally allowed home in June.
‘They pushed me over, I was on my hands and knees and I didn’t know how to get out.
‘They’d got all around me and all I could see was hooves after hooves after hooves.
‘I stood up and then they pushed me down again. I was on my hands and knees again and then they were headbutting me on my back.
‘I was wearing a hard leather backpack handbag and they were hitting it. The next minute they’d snapped the arm off my backpack, that had gone round my neck and it was choking me.
‘I’m very lucky to be alive.’
