Posted on a student workstation here at the university library where I work, I found a small sticker of a rooster with the Hebrew letters for DSK on it. I was able to find out that there is a German-language veterinarian student group called Diergeneeskundige Studenten Kring, but I wondered if anybody here was familiar with the symbols? I was worried that it might be some kind of weird nationalist /hate symbol, but it’s probably just a weird meme.

I suspect the sticker represents a different "DSK".

Here is the logo for the veterinarian student group - the only logo or graphic I can find for them:

That wouldn’t have been my first thought, especially at a university. They are not widely regarded as hotbeds of right-leaning thought.

Try snapping a photo, then doing a TinEye search.

Thanks for the suggestion Maximus. US Universities have seen a growth in various kinds of weird hate groups and antifascist movements both, and we've had some politically sensitive books destroyed because one group didn't like that we had it. If I can scan it, I'll post it here.

Might this represent some allusion to Dominique Strauss-Kahn - former head of the IMF, major figure in the French socialist party, fallen from grace owing to scandals years ago, long described as having very close ties with Israel, and widely referred to by his initials (DSK)?

That is an intereting interpretation, though why it would be stuck in a university library desk is anybody's guess1

Hebrew is usually read right-to-left, so you may be looking for 'KSD' instead.
Is it this word, found in Genesis?

Something diabolic?

or is it something more prosaic?

I should have double-checked the Hebrew orthography earlier ...

I don't think it translates as DSK / KSD.

Accommodating all the stylistic variations in Hebrew orthography, I think the sticker reads (from top to bottom):

'R' (Resh / Raysh / Reish)
'S / Sh' (Sin or Shin)
'K / Kh' (Kaf)

KSR is used as shorthand for certified Kosher foods, eg. one certifying body in Quebec here: https://ksrkosher.com/index.php/certification/

The Hebrew characters are found on several national/state Kosher certification symbols in the order shown on @MrRING's image eg.,

New Jersey:

Maybe the sticker's from a Kosher chicken sandwich peeled off and stuck down by a sated student?

Ding ding ding! I think we have a winner. The text matches perfectly.

Agreed ... This would seem to be the most defensible explanation.

I do love it when a bit of Google detective work pays off!

Thank everybody - since students are already sticking other similar stickers that come on food products, that makes alot of sense. The brains at FB really can do some detectivin'!
