You're doing it now!an ocean span at least
Found this interesting quote to explain that we think we measure accurately, but not precisely, or vice-versa!You're doing it now!
And the irony of my statement is that I have no idea of an ocean spanYou're doing it now!
I'm thinking it would be a little over three miles, as to actually 'looking' to the horizons in any direction at, or on, the 'span' of an ocean? And the irony of my statement is that I have no idea of an ocean span
The five oceans are connected and are actually one huge body of water, called the global ocean or just the ocean. And the irony of my statement is that I have no idea of an ocean span
Then in reality, there is but one ocean. It's just that humans have seen the need to divide it up, so that they know where they are, or where they are going in the world! The five oceans are connected and are actually one huge body of water, called the global ocean or just the ocean.
The five oceans from smallest to largest are: the Arctic, Southern, Indian, Atlantic and Pacific.

The Arctic Ocean is the smallest and shallowest of the world's five major oceans. It spans an area of approximately 14,060,000 km² and is known as one of the coldest of oceans.

Which is about 85 times the size of Florida.

Roaring Forties comes to mind, that's given itself a descriptive name I guess?Meh....oceans and seas don't name themselves.
Not really - IIRC it gained it's moniker from it's Southern Latitudes when sailors were first regularly going through there.Roaring Forties comes to mind, that's given itself a descriptive name I guess?
Only difference then is that 45 Aardvark's have long thick tails!Asteroid the size of 45 aardvarks to fly past Earth
An asteroid the size of over 45 aardvarks is set to pass by the Earth on Wednesday, July 19, according to NASA's asteroid tracker.
The asteroid in question was designated by NASA as 2023 NE1, according to the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL).

I'm beginning to think we need a subforum just for these deliberately oddball Jerusalem Post asteroid stories. They take all the fun out of searching for other items that meet the thread's title.
Are they just doing this to be silly, or is there something more to it? Could it be some kind of spy code? One of the readers of this story knows what "45 aardvarks" really means.
I don't know what 45 is, but I do know what 42 isAre they just doing this to be silly, or is there something more to it? Could it be some kind of spy code? One of the readers of this story knows what "45 aardvarks" really means.
'42' - The answer to everything perhaps?I think we should be more concerned for aardvarks than asteroids the size of 45 of them.
I don't know what 45 is, but I do know what 42 is
Just a minute. . . they could be Bulldog puppies? Someone's avin a larf!
I looked and the Jerusalem Posts all have the byline: By AARON REICH.

His two older brothers were both better writers.
Ahhh. Now I get it.You're not a fan of the third Reich then?
Well at least I can fathom that. The waves that battered cruise ship Spirit of Discovery in the Bay of Biscay, injuring 150 of the 1,000 passengers, were "as high as three double-decker buses".
