FT 372's Mythconceptions asks whether sweating heavily during exercise is a sign of being unhealthy? Must be more factors involved than that, I would have thought. Some people perspire more easily than others, and it's nothing to do with being unhealthy, right?

Plenty of sportsmen at their peak sweat profusely.

I know! It's a cooling system, so probably depends on how hot you are.

I believe it's based on genetic factors, activity level and ambient temperature - humidity. However a small part of the population suffers from a condition known as hyperhidrosis. A conditions of excess sweating that can require medical attention.
