Foreign Objects Lodged In The Genital / Urinary Organs

Leech swims up man’s penis, drinks pint of blood before docs pull it out

Doctors in Cambodia recently removed a leech that, in wince-worthy fashion, had entered an elderly man’s penis while he was swimming and drank a full pint of blood.

The unnamed patient first knew something was awry after experiencing severe pain while trying to use the bathroom, reports Viral Press. He wound up at a hospital in Phnom Penh, where a tiny camera was inserted into his penis, which revealed the culprit to be a leech.

A pint? That's a thirsty leech.

doctors were forced to use a tiny probe with electric nodes and cutting tools at the end to kill the leech before yanking it back out the way it came in.

Squirm.

Ouch ... :bored:

Sounding with the 'straw' (nozzle extension) on a spray can of insulation foam went horribly wrong when this man's partner triggered the can's valve and injected expanding insulation foam into the patient's urethra.
Impotent man, 45, may never be able to use his penis again after his partner accidentally deployed expanding foam INSIDE his urethra in bizarre attempt to keep him erect during sex

An American man may never be able to use his penis again after his partner accidentally sprayed expanding foam up his urethra in a sex act gone wrong.

The 45-year-old patient had to have a new opening cut between his scrotum and his anus to urinate when the foam hardened and became 'anchored' in his penis.

Medics who treated him revealed he will only qualify for reconstructive surgery if he passes a psychiatric evaluation. ...

The unidentified man was struggling with impotence, and had been inserting various objects into the opening of his penis during sex to stay erect.

But things went horribly wrong during one of these sessions when the man's partner tried to use the straw of a can of insulation spray to keep him firm.

At some point the man's unidentified partner accidently hit the button on top of the can, deploying the foam inside of his penis.

The foam, normally used for home insulation, hardened and he was left with several masses in the inside of his member and bladder. ...

Urologists who detailed the incident in Urology Case Reports said the man waited three weeks to seek medical attention.

He only went for treatment after finding it increasingly sore and difficult to urinate. By the time he arrived at hospital he was passing blood. ...

Once he raised the alarm with medics, scans found various masses of the hardened foam with some measuring up to nearly 11cm (4 inches) long. ...

Medical staff managed to extract the foam from inside the man's bladder during surgery, but the masses located in his penis proved more problematic.

Using specialised tools, doctors tried to grab the foam and pull it out through the opening of the man's penis but this proved impossible.

It became apparent that the man suffered from urethral stricture disease - a condition where the urethra, the tube carrying urine out of the penis, becomes scarred, causing it to narrow.

This scarred tissue effectively anchored the foam in place, making the attempts to manually extract it through the penis impossible.

Medics were forced to perform a perineal urethrostomy, where a new opening is made between the scrotum and the anus, to remove the remaining fragments.

This procedure diverts the urine stream away from the penis, with the new hole behind the scrotum used to expel urine.

Following the surgery, three tubes were inserted to help him pass urine and remove fluid from the procedure.

No issues were identified after the operation and the man is expected to undergo further surgery to repair his urethra but only after a psychiatric assessment. ...

The patient, who is currently homeless, will only qualify for an assessment if he 'achieves a stable living environment', the authors from New York and Pennsylvania wrote. ...

Abstract
Foreign bodies are inserted into the genitourinary tract for various reasons, and may present a challenge to remove. We report a case of foam insulation injected into the urethra almost entirely occluding the urethra and filling the bladder. Ultimately both a cystotomy and perineal urethrotomy were required for removal.

Spray foam is unpredictable. I've seen someone use the filler sort on a wall around electric cable instead of plastering. One touch, it went everywhere.

Yes, I have indeed had entire relationships like that.

You know some people do this kind of thing for sexual fun? Just look up 'sounding' - all the usual NSFW caveats will apply.
Don't ask how I know about this, but simply typing the word is making me wince.
The same story I quoted from Reddit, about DIY sounding gone wrong, keeps popping up on this thread. :chuckle:

One assumes this is because various threads have been started on the subject and merged. People like to read about it. ;)

This is not the only thread which mentions amateur/DIY sounding. Can remember posting elsewhere about a relation's near-disastrous medical condition that I believe was caused by it.

I thought the worst use of that foam was what a cowboy roofer has done to a house opposite mine!

Instead of re-fixing slates, he has attempted to seal gaps with the foam; it looks as if a rampant, beige fungus is lifting the slates!

I thought of posting a snapshot but it is bound to seem a bit limp after the above!

Did it not occur to these people that perhaps it would be a good idea to remove the straw nozzle thing from the contraption before putting it where they did?

Are we sure it was really an accident?:thought: I mean what could be a more brilliant cure for a limp penis than a shot of expandable insulation foam? Until you find out that it is in fact a terrible idea and don't want to admit you didn't think of that?

What a good point. They might've thought that as the foam texture slightly resembles that of...

Where the hell am I going with this?

My first instinct on reading this report was also: accident?, yeah, right.

He just happened to be doing DIY while naked, and accidentally fell onto the foam nozzle.
Honest, guv.

Man hospitalized after shoving AA battery into his penis

An Iranian man was forced to go to the emergency room after shoving a AA battery down his penis.

science-direct-comp.jpg

The fiasco came to light after the unnamed 49-year-old reported to a hospital in Tehran, where he informed doctors that he had the charging device lodged in his genital organ for 24 hours, according to a new case study published in the medical journal Urology Case Reports.

During a followup visit, the patient complained of a “recurrence of obstructive and irritating urinary symptoms including dysuria, decreased urinary force.” He also reportedly experienced a burning sensation whenever he tried to urinate.

Meanwhile, subsequent X-rays revealed “severe and progressive” scarring to his urethra, which mitigated the amount of fluids that could flow through the tube. Doctors surmised that the scar tissue build-up could’ve been caused by toxic chemicals in the battery.

To prevent permanent damage, surgeons sliced open the patient’s perineum — the tissue connecting his penis and anus — so they could access the urethra without harming his testicles.

They then removed the energizing infiltrator and used a skin graft from the inside of his cheeks and lips to repair the urethral damage.

The man was discharged from the hospital after a three-week observation period, whereupon a six-month checkup revealed that he had fully recovered from the phallic fiasco.

Woman’s ‘UTI’ turns out to be glass tumbler lodged in her bladder for 4 years

A WOMAN who doctors thought had a UTI actually had a glass tumbler stuck in her bladder for four years.

The 45-year-old had come to hospital complaining of typical lower UTI (urinary tract infection) symptoms, such as leaking.

But doctors were left stunned when scans revealed there was a glass inside her bladder.

NINTCHDBPICT000719312537.jpg

It was incased by an 8cm-wide bladder stone, which are normally so small they are hard to see with the naked eye.

The woman, from Tunisia, revealed she had used the drinking glass as a sex toy a number of years before.

Evidently she had inserted it into the urethral - the hole which females urinate from - rather than the vagina.

The patient arrived at the emergency department at Academic Hospital Habib Bourguiba complaining of UTI symptoms.

She reported that she had suffered cystitis (inflammation of the bladder) several times, but it had never been investigated.

The woman didn't have any blood in her urine, nor was she suffering with urinary incontinence, the report said.

But she did have a higher than normal red blood cell range, indicating the body was fighting an infection.

...doctors performed surgery to remove the bladder stone.

They then cracked it open to expose the - still intact - glass, that had been in her body for years.

Two days later the woman had recovered and was well enough to go home.

The above just has to be a wind-up, doesn't it? I mean; I can accept that an object such as a pencil, or (little) finger, or even a candle could be used in such a way - but a glass tumbler?!

It's like trying to imagine the QE2 cruising along the Caledonian Canal or something - the scales of the respective object and navigable passage are completely at odds.

(1) This widely-reported case is real. It's not just a wild viral UL. See proof below ...

(2) The small glass (more of a shot glass, really ... ) is visible in this photo of the bladder stone, once removed and cracked open.

1-s2.0-S2214442021003831-gr2.jpg

(3) The maximum width of the enclosing bladder stone is circa 8 cm (3.15 inches).

(4) The glass wasn't inserted via the urethra. It was inserted into, and left within, the vagina. The vagina and bladder are adjacent to each other and separated by a relatively thin wall of tissue. The clinical explanation is that the glass migrated from the vaginal cavity into the bladder via a fistula. Neither was the stone removed via the urethra. It was surgically removed by cutting the bladder open.

(5) The case is documented in a peer-reviewed journal. The full case report is accessible at the link below:

I must have had a very sheltered life, not only do I not understand why but don't even get how.

Ah, thanks for the explanation @EnolaGaia - I had assumed that since the glass was in the bladder it had to have got there via the urethra - I never considered that it might have 'migrated' from the vagina.

Phew! That's slightly better.

Man in 'excruciating pain' found with four-inch iron nail stuck in bladder for a year

Surgeons at the Bhind District Hospital in India were shocked to find a nail stuck in patient Jagram's bladder after he came in complaining of excrutiating pain

To the surprise of doctors, the scan showed a four-inch nail sitting inside the patient’s bladder.

But what was still not clear was how the iron nail came to be in the man's body.

The patient was not able to afford medical care but all doctors were in agreement that they would perform the surgery for free to finally end the man’s pain.

It took doctors nearly an hour to remove the nail from the patient, in what the hospital described as a “first”.

Jagram has now returned to full health after getting the nail taken out.

So, she never concerned herself with "where the f**k did my shot glass go"?
