I’m seeing an African woman in a crown. A few minutes’ Googling suggests Teresa Chikaba, an African slave who became a (sort of) nun...
Given the landowners were apparently Gitanos I think it's maybe more likely to be Sara-la-Kali (Sarah the Black/Santa Sarah) who is the patron saint of the Romani.
She, doesn't look very reassuring to me, though. But then, despite any lack of religion myself, I suspect I have an ingrained mistrust of religious iconography. Maybe Protestantism is genetic - I like church architecture, and enjoy the external expressions of such in Spain. But the insides give me the absolute shudders.
I still wonder what was in that outbuilding. The door was invitingly open, but I dared not enter, lest the rest of her be sitting in there waiting for me.
Edit: Wiki article on Saint Sarah here.
