Must be a hell of a contract the TV company has him under if he couldn't just walk out. Was he under armed guard or something? Anything for ratings, including imprisonment?
US investigating possible mysterious directed energy attack near White House
"Federal agencies are investigating at least two possible incidents on US soil, including one near the White House in November of last year, that appear similar to mysterious, invisible attacks that have led to debilitating symptoms for dozens of US personnel abroad.
Multiple sources familiar with the matter tell CNN that while the Pentagon and other agencies probing the matter have reached no clear conclusions on what happened, the fact that such an attack might have taken place so close to the White House is particularly alarming."
Huge Region of Europe Destroyed by Asteroid Impact ...
... in Planetary Defense Exercise
In an alternate reality playing out at this year’s international Planetary Defense Conference, a fictional asteroid crashes over Europe, ‘destroying’ a region about 100 km wide near the Czech Republic and German border. The scenario was imagined, but the people who took part are very real, and the lessons learnt will shape our ability to respond to dangerous asteroids for years to come. ...

Oh dear. This is not looking good. It seems these disaster training exercises are sometimes followed up by a real event.
GAMES WITHOUT FRONTIERS

Our current ability to 'respond to dangerous asteroids' being pretty much zero, I expect that anything that makes us less squishy and able to move out of the way more quickly would be an improvement.
The boundary between France and Belgium is believed to have been inadvertently redrawn by a farmer who found the 200-year-old border stone marking the divide in an inconvenient location for his tractor.
An uplifting story of a dog that had seen enough Lassie films, but not enough Tom & Jerry cartoons. It knew how to raise the alarm, but forgot that cats are the ancient enemy. Oh, what life affirming lessons we could learn from this unprejudiced canine Samaritan!
Opening paragraph: A cat has been rescued after a dog reacted to her meows coming from a ledge 20ft (6m) underground. Firefighters were called to the well at a house on Main Street in Loddington, Northamptonshire at 14:53 BST on Tuesday.
Flea, who is nearly a year old and lives across the road, had been missing from her home for more than a week.
Her owner Freya Hill said the dog drew the attention of the people living at the house.
Debt dispute allegedly behind cockroach attack at Taipei restaurant
Taipei, May 4 (CNA) A debt dispute between a restaurant owner and a criminal ring may be behind a bizarre cockroach attack at the Taipei restaurant Monday night while it was hosting a police gathering, according to Taipei Police Commissioner Chen Jia-chang (陳嘉昌).
Speaking Tuesday, Chen said the preliminary findings of the police investigation into the case at G House Taipei suggest that the unusual act may have been directed at the restaurant's owner, who allegedly owes money to the Bamboo Union, an organized crime ring.
Chen said the suspects were Bamboo Union members, and that there was no evidence indicating that the cockroach attack was targeted at police officers present at the restaurant.
