Yes. We like to keep it simple.
Particularly the bright yellow warning signs.
Seems a bit harsh for break-dancing though.

Horns? What - like the common (yet inaccurate) depiction of Viking helmets?
How's that going to be of any use?
View attachment 61221

In fact, that helmet is associated with dangerous lightning strikes.

Our distribution network is different.
Yes. I once saw a report about a large American blackout on a British news program. The reporter seemed adamant in blaming it on the large proportion of overhead power lines we have. To my knowledge, no one except this reporter felt that way.

Yep, definitely worth $5m dollars, the poor woman had to endure opening a lid, adding sauce and water then stirring.

Florida woman sues Kraft mac and cheese over preparation time

A Florida woman has sued the makers of Velveeta Shells and Cheese, claiming the dish takes too long to make.
The Kraft Company markets its microwaveable cups as "ready in 3.5 minutes" but Amanda Ramirez says it takes longer.
The $5m (£4.2m) lawsuit claims the time advertised does not include preparation time - opening the lid and sauce pouch, before adding water and stirring.

I saw an analysis of this by a YouTube lawyer, and her case is remarkably flimsy. The crux of her argument is that the misstated prep time caused her harm, but her lawyers' filing says she enjoyed the product numerous times before bringing suit, and plans to do so in the future, once this is corrected.

I thought about suing Holland's pies. On the packet of their single pies it says 'eat in two minutes.' False advertising as I can't eat a pie that fast.
There are people who can, and the company could ask them to demonstrate in a court of law.
I guess 'eat in two minutes' is quicker and less wordy than saying, 'begin consuming product within a 2-minute time frame after cooking'.

This medical science article caught my eye ... I'm wondering what sort of therapy one would use if this were true ...

Wild New Hypothesis Suggests IBS Could Be a Form of 'Gravity Intolerance'

Surely the effect of gravity on a bipedal animal would make more sense? Back problems are often blamed on this but the entire body has evolved relatively recently from a quadrupedal form where gravity would act differently. I couldn't see anything in the article about that but wonder whether that is the basis of the theory?

but wonder whether that is the basis of the theory?
I think the basis for the theory is "We're a department in a university dependant on money for our budget coming by way of grants or sponsorship so we continue to do reports of little interest to almost anyone in the hope that we can keep ourselves in a job"

Wisconsin Hunter Bags Buck With Help From An… Emu?

A Wisconsin hunter was out deer hunting, when an incredibly unlikely visitor decided to join in on the action.

Asher Torbeck, an Appleton, Wisconsin native and Waunakee police sergeant told the outlet:

“There is a high fence deer farm behind me and I looked over there and I saw something walking with two legs and I’m like what in the world is that?”

And believe it or not, the creature was an emu, walking right under the tree on his family’s land, where he’s hunted for the past two decades.

And the next day, he spotted the emu walking near him again:

“The emu stands up real quick and the deer stops in his tracks and now they’re just looking at each other like, what in the world are you?”

The two then stared each other down for about 10 minutes, and the deer eventually turned, giving Torbeck a perfect shot:

“I thought, who else can say they shot a buck while an emu was running a distraction for him, so I ended up shooting the buck and looked over at the emu I thought that big bang I hope I didn’t scare it.

I didn’t even think of that. I look over and the emu is still standing there, I’m like, OK.”

He ended up snapping a few selfies with the bird, just to prove to friends and family he wasn’t lying. He then followed the emu back to the brother of its owner, Summer Theys, a 16-year-old who owns three pet emus, and all of them had escaped their Cecil enclosure a few days before Torbeck’s hunt.

He also hilariously joked:

“When he gets there, we’re told that if you put a sock over the emu’s head that it would go docile. So we’re like, OK, we’ll give it a shot.”

After a few valiant efforts, he was able to successfully place the sock over the emu’s head:

“I let go and her head is waving all over the place. Me and the brother were like we got to do something here because she’s either going to run off into the woods with a sock over her head or she’s going to hit her head on something.”

The pair was then able to successfully pick the emu up and take her back to Theys, reuniting with Limu the emu and the other two pets, Tweety Bird and Peep Peep.

Bats growl like death metal singers to communicate with each other

For the first time, researchers have filmed a bats' voice box, or larynx, as it produces sound, and found that they exploit a thick structure called "false vocal folds" to hit the lower end of their range.

Humans have similar vocal folds that are not used in speech, but are employed by death metal singers and throat singers to make their guttural growls.

Not only death metal singers, but throat singers use these vocal folds.

Let's Dig Up Gran !

A bizarre case from the Dominican Republic:

A family in the Dominican Republic exhumed their grandmother nearly a decade after her burial only to find the corpse perfectly preserved.
When Margarita Rosario was dug up at La Colonia Cemetery in Jarabacoa, she was found to still have a full head of hair, some skin and enough bones to be able to stand with little support, relatives told Jam Press.

A video shot outside the graveyard shows a man holding the corpse up while a woman dresses her in a white nightgown. A small group crowded to watch the aftermath of the exhumation, some of whom captured the scene on video.

Local residents also expressed shock over how well Rosario had been preserved.

I won't post pictures because you can find them on the web pages, and WARNING - they are a bit graphic.

Not the least perplexing aspect of this case is that no reason was given for the exhumation.

"Remember Gran?"
"The one who died ten years ago?"
"Yeah. Wonder what she looks like now. Let's dig her up and find out."
"Sounds good to me. Nothing worth watching on the telly...."

:omg:...she was found to still have a full head of hair, some skin and enough bones to be able to stand with little support, relatives told Jam Press.
Not at all surprised really, after all - having spent ten years laying horizontal inside a wooden coffin would render anybody to be a bit more than just a little Stiff!
