We are aware that something is amiss with the forum.
We are not yet aware of the reason that something is amiss with the forum.

If this page took less that two minutes to load, you've been fortunate.

First thing I've been able to load from the forums tonight. Thought maybe because of Christmas day.

Mine is taking about 20 seconds to load a page, a little longer to post a new item, unless it's a picture which takes quite a bit longer. And I've got Fibre Broadband all the way from Virgin.

In the NE USA using Spectrum 20-30 sec/page. Other sites OK. Merry Xmas all mods.

This is an unfortunate repeat of slow-down / bog-down conditions encountered during multiple transient periods circa 10 - 16 hours ago.

This latest round seems more protracted and severe than the last one(s), probably owing to increased load.

Our tech support wizard has been notified and advised of a possible clue to what may be causing or aggravating it.

Are we sure that it wasn't caused by Stu Neville coming in and unplugging part of the server so that he could plug in the lights on the Christmas tree????

For pity's sake, man, don't get him started on Christmas trees.

Inside a starship, watching puny humans from afar
Wow, it loads really sloooowwwly.
Racking my brains to think of what the cause may be.

This is the only thread I seem to be able to load, although a bit slowly. Guess I'll go and put the solar bird bath together.

Tried to check into web site all day Christmas, but I could not until now at about a little after 7 P.M. Central,Standard Time.

Nothing would even come up until now.

I resent the very suggestion! I haven't done that for at least a year.
For pity's sake, man, don't get him started on Christmas trees.
No. Don't.

And my phone is fully optimised, because I even downloaded an app to check my battery cells were not at fault...

Yes, genuinely, I did.

Even an online forum deserves a Christmas break I suppose!

Well done for getting it back up to speed.

I'm accessing this forum through an 'etch-a-sketch'.
Aaah....fixed the problems with the forum.

I turned it upside down and shook it.

Sorted.

So now that everything is back to 'normal'......did we get to the bottom of what the problem was?

If I answered 'no', we'd look unprofessional, so I won't say that.

I'll say that owing to operational security I'm not at liberty to divulge such information as it may jeopardise the ongoing stability of the platform.

I could tell you, of course, but then I'd have to kill you; and then there wouldn't have been much point in my telling you.

And it might make a mess.
