Hi, a search on the forum don't gave me any results, so think that would have to give some space here for this person, and of course for his work.
František Bardon or Franz Bardon is one of the most noticeable magicians of the XX century, most know for his 3 books about magic, thinked as a system of autoformation for magicians.
Born in the village of Liberec, now Chequia, in 1909. Son of a father interested on christian misticism and hermeticism.
Bardon is most known by his three books on magic: "introduction into hermetics", "The practice of evocative magic", and "The key of the True Kabala". The 3 books were think as a part of a set of five that cant be finished by his dead.
This set of books were at the same time, not only a work for him but a true magic mission to achieve. There was a kind of memories that couldnt be finished called "Frabato, the magician" were he exposes how the writting of that books were a order given by a kind of magic spirit. The objetive was to write 5 books one for each of the first Tarot arcana, so " introduction.." was for the card of the magician, " The practice..." Was for the card of the priest, ,and "The key.." was for the card of the empress. He couldn't finish the book for the card of the emperor, and still more misteriously, the spirit sujested to Bardon try to show something about the card of the Hierofant, but not too much.
The personality of Bardon is quite far of the XX century ocultist full of overtwisted barroquism and gloomy narcisism that have damaged too many times the Hermeticism of that century. Bardon instead is cristal clear and without hidden corners.
Will try to put some more notes on this character.
Have to say that i got info and pics from the excellent webpage about bardon in porteguese:
