Furries & Animal Wannabes

The video at the link is worth seeing:

I still quibble that he certainly has not fulfilled his dream by 'becoming a dog', but he has managed something strangely impressive--except for, perhaps, the automaton-jaw.

Walkies! Vid at link.

A Japanese man, who spent approximately two million yen (£10,926) on his custom-made collie costume, shared a video of him taking a walk for the first time.

The man, identified only as Toco, hired a Japanese company called Zeppet last year – which is known for creating sculptures and models for movies and commercials – to make the costume.

They took 40 days to create the costume to fulfill Mr Toco's dream of "becoming an animal".

Man is attacked by furry after he's caught filming fetish group in Huntington Beach

A fight broke out at a Furries meet up when a man was caught filming members of the group at a California beach.

Two people in black wolf costumes got into an altercation in Huntington Beach on Saturday after a man who was recording them refused to leave - with some commenters suggesting that he is a scorned ex-lover of one of the participants.

The incident, which was caught on video, happened at a Sunset Beach Bonfire 'furmeet' where hundreds of Furries were out in full force.

It appeared to start after a man was filming the group and had his phone in the face of one member who warned him to leave.

The man in the furry costume then struck him in the head with a megaphone before he was tackled to the ground by another person. A second furry jumped into help his friend and they continued to grapple on the sand.

In the clip, the furry in the black wolf costume is seen using a megaphone to shout at the man recording: 'Leave or we will make you leave.'

In a separate clip, police officers were seen arresting one of the fighting Furries who is heard saying: 'I am not resisting.'

Definitely more context needed, but unfortunately the original poster of the clip has limited who can read their tweets, so really difficult to confirm or deny the stories going round. Considering the media is clearly still peddling the extremely tired Furry=Fetish shtick - not that I'd expect anything else of the Mail - really can't say I blame said poster for closing up shop.

Barking mad?

Individuals who identify as dogs recently gathered in the heart of Berlin in an unusual and somewhat controversial gathering, perplexing local authorities and locals. This rare occurrence has sparked debate about the limits of personal expression and led to requests for animal control officials to intervene.

A group of dog-loving humans has sparked cries for "animal control" after a video of their Berlin meet-up went viral. An estimated 1,000 people who wish to be identified as canines rather than humans gathered at Berlin's Potsdamer Platz railway station in Germany, communicating exclusively by howling or barking at one another.

Critics mocked the trans-species people online, with some offering to test the herd's "canine instincts."

The event took place on Tuesday, September 19th, 2023. The event elicited diverse reactions online, with some expressing support and curiosity and others mocking and criticising the participants.

This unusual canine gathering follows the global renown of Toco, a person in Japan who, after purchasing a $14,000 hyper-realistic costume, is now living out his lifelong dream of being a dog.

Experts have urged a distinction between "therians," those who "identify as a creature other than human," and "furries," people who like cosplaying in animal suits, according to the New York Post.
