Gay porn actor/German spy/secret radical muslim, surprisingly these are all the same person and did not walk into a bar together as the setup to a joke.

Two weeks ago, German intelligence agents noticed an unusual user in a chat room known as a digital hideout for Islamic militants. The man claimed to be one of them — and said he was a German spy. He was offering to help Islamists infiltrate his agency’s defenses to stage a strike.

Agents lured him into a private chat, and he gave away so many details about the spy agency — and his own directives within it to thwart Islamists — that they quickly identified him, arresting the 51-year-old the next day. Only then would the extent of his double life become clear.

The German citizen of Spanish descent confessed to secretly converting to Islam in 2014. From there, his story took a stranger turn. Officials ran a check on the online alias he assumed in radical chat rooms. The married father of four had used it before — as recently as 2011 — as his stage name for acting in gay pornographic films.

Blimey, he's had a colourful life !

You seem to get some odd bods in intelligence. Cross-dressing messiah David Shayler comes to mind.

Ah yes, read about this in the German media - bizarre!
And on a scale of 0 to 10, how believable do you consider any aspect of these reports to be?

What's your gut feeling? Without making any attempts to rationalise or interpret further?

I would give it a score of about 8, as it has been reported in reputable German media and there is quite a bit of back story to the whole thing. If you follow this link http://www.stern.de/politik/deutsch...fassungsschutz--das-ist-roque-m--7220144.html and use Google translate or similar, you can read the story and make up your own mind.

One thing with a CV like that he wont be out of work long
but on who's side is anyone's guess.

I have a great respect for your opinions, in general here, but I'm afraid we must differ on the scoring. I rate this, maybe, at 0.8....

My Google auto-translated extract:

"However, there were signs that Roque M. could not have been satisfied with his life, that he was looking for something else - or because of - his severely handicapped child.

He tried to be a literary publisher, was a personally liable partner of a tattoostudios, a Spanish acquaintance in Krefeld. And he tried a startup for underwear.

He described the products on a website as "German Military Underwear, Strong Manly, Sexy."The logo has something runic-like.

Christian, green, secretly gay - suddenly Islamist
Anyone who wants can see in it a reference to the most piquant detail of the second unknown side of Roque M.

His alias, under which Roque M. was chatting in Islamic forums, also served him as an artist's name in gay pornos, as the "Washington Post" found.

It is a story you can not invent.
(emphasis added)

Christian, green, secretly gay - and suddenly an Islamist who boasted after his arrest: "Allah, you have me now, but the plan continues." It is also a story that can not be easily explained.

Still no one can say with certainty whether Roque M. has just been turned off, a case for psychiatry. Or whether he presented a serious danger".

Well I don't have a problem with that, but I am not sure what your scoring is referring to? The facts such as they are? Or the interpretation of the Washington Post?
Facts which have been verified are :
1. He passed the screening and worked for the German domestic intelligence service.
2. His earlier political leanings were towards the Green party.
3. He used to be a Christian
4. He acted in gay porn movies under the pseudonym Rogue M.
5. He used this pseudonym as his alias in islamist chatrooms.
6. He offered to use his job in the intelligence service in those chatrooms to help islamists.
6. He has been involved in a number of failed business ventures.
Supposition :
1. He infiltrated the intelligence service to gain information to help islamists organisation.
2. He had converted to Islam.
OR
3. He is a fantasist trying to escape his mundane and by the sounds of it at times quite sad life (e.g. father of a severely disabled child). Possibly has mental health problems.

For what it is worth, my money is on supposition 3.

Now, Supposition 3, or a layered version of it, I could begin to believe in.

And there are, of course, lots of ways in which someone might legitimately be said to "work for" any national domestic intelligence service.

I'm unsure if the Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), Germany's version of this service would allow a Spanish national to work for them in an operational/field capacity, but let's assume they would (or, he had a supporting role)

Let's pretend for now that the 'stage name' Roque M (Rogue Male?) is just a coincidental bit of nominative determination....predictive, it appears, of his life's path.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Roque
Roque
"Usually derived from French roots, this name literally means "rest". This name however, is usually give to tremendously attractive gentlemen, with strong physical traits"

More dissection to follow....but not necessarily conclusions.
