GhostStudy.com: What Do You Make Of It?

Yeah, they enjoy simulacra more than anything over there. ANd you mentioned the stuff about enhancing the photos. I like it when they do that with the EVPs as well. Yes, I suppose if I stretch my ears two miles apart I can sort of hear what you thinkis there....mmhmm.
 
Up to $500,000 Reward for
an Authentic Ghost Photo/Video

Organizations, Groups and Individuals are out there, and are willing to pay top money for an authentic Ghost Photo with Video coverage. We at Ghoststudy do not have that kind of money laying around but there are those that do. If you think you can prove the existence of a ghost and can document it, then you may be a candidate for this.

HOW IT WORKS
We here at Ghoststudy want to see that the existence of life beyond this realm is proven as much as is possible. We feel that there are those of you that have the means of providing this evidence but would rather not share it with the world, but would you do it for $500,000? We would act with you as a team in gathering this evidence. This would mean that I and a small group would travel to where this evidence could be provided and then help you acquire it in a scientific manner. If we are fortunate enough to acquire said evidence (meaning irrefutable proof!), we would then contact the group that is fronting the money and invite them to join us. This group (sponsor) would then have to be able to witness for themselves first hand the evidence as it is filmed and video-taped. If the reward is paid, it will be according to the sponsors terms & guidelines and not us or ours at Ghoststudy. Also if the reward is granted, it would be evenly divided between yourself and the executor at ghoststudy.com ($500,000 each). You would also agree that the evidence could be used freely by the group sponsoring the event and by us at Ghoststudy for our web site.

Er....How could $500,000 (about £300! haha!)...be equally devided to give them $500,000 each??
Looks like ghoststudy are trying to bleed as much cash as possible out of folk. Wouldn't you just provide your own evidence and take the full ammount?
Personally, If I could provide inconclusive evidence of the paranormal, I'd go to the James Randi foundation and claim my $1million! (about £2,000! haha!)
Then make as much cash as possible from the rights and not giving it free to ghoststudy, as they insist!
 
There is nothing there to suggest they will investigate for free, either. This talk of team-work hints at a we-come, you-pay arrangement. Last time I looked on that site, they were looking for sponsors so they could fly over to take a look at a haunted Welsh farm. :hmm:

FFS - Ghoststudy is going from bad to worse.

What makes me laugh is that people are now wise to how Jims checking for fake pictures works (EXIF data and all that). There are some very obvious photoshopped pictures in there this month. None of them done my me, might I add! ;) I learned my lesson well in regards to that particular subject.

Also, has anyone else noticed how Jims attitude to fake photos has changed.

I used to moderate at the Shadowlands message board. I had to stop because my schedule got hectic and I didn't have enough time, but I didn't mind it anyway...people post the craziest questions and you have a hard time treating everyone respectfully when you'd like to say "look you loser...you know you're a lying bastard" but you have to say "oh well that sounds very tramatic, I'm glad you're ok now". Jeeze!

I never did care much for ghoststudy because I have a hard time believing pictures. Like has been said in this thread (I think this one) it's so easy to doctor photos now that I just don't bother to look at supposed ghost photos. I like reading stories more (not the hi im 12 and wear hawnted" BS) but the coherent stories.

Yep...June's pile o' poop is now up. I seriously am going to have a brain tumor from it, I think. "Ghost Haunts Window" is just a dude looking in the window with a crap story to go along with it. "Ghost and its possessions" (hilariously typoed as "processions" in the detail paragraph) looks like nothing more than someone's fingers in front of the lens photoshopped poorly. The fact that "Demon in cigar smoke" was reconsidered as a real ghost is beyond nauseating, and the rest is the usual nonsense.

But check out the third user submitted photo above the June gallery links. Is that supposed to be an alien or something peeking out of a closet door? And that junk's in the Secret Crypt that they expect you to pay extra for? Good god.

I've sent amanipulation of the "Chinaman in smoke" pic as it was piss easy. I'll put it up on a site and link it if anyone wants to see it?

Why do the 'faked' pictures look more believable than the 'real' ones?

The ghost leaning on the tree....whoever thought that one wants shooting in the mouth or something! :twisted: It's a bleeding mark/light on the tree combination! Who's ghost is it supposed to be? Goliath's?

This is a picture I found in an old photo album. If you look at the first photo. you will see a woman positioned within the table, oddly enough. Her face is slightly blurred and not proportional to the others around the table. In the second photo she is completely gone as if she disappeared

I have never looked at Ghoststudy before today and from the glimpse I have had I must admit that I find the site amusing but would never look on it for ghost related material.
 
Cheers mate. I only look on it to be astounded by the ridiculous ammount of crap they accept and review as genuine.

Just because the photo wasn't tampered with, doesn't mean the content is really a ghost/Jesus/extinct mushroom or anything else.

It does annoy me about GS's policy about not discussing religion in the forums (because "it gets heated very quickly" or whatever) but they are more than happy to post "ghost photos" of Christian religious figures. I can't think of any time I have ever seen them post a photo of a Pagan or a Hindu or any other religion's religious figure.
 
Sleep Study Pics

Since the time frame for the entire was something like one second, my vote is that the "entity" is really just a piece of dust or hair caught in an air current and passing very close to the camera lens.....

I guess these other figures are pretty shy or just not as clumsy with being caught on camera as that Jesus fellow. Then again perhaps that is not jesus at all just some ghost in a nightdress which could be anyone (or a photographic issue).

I always thought the Devil's footprint photos were caused by little old Pan nipping out for his daily jog, bearing in mind that the devil was always characterised as human form until the Christians came to (we could say invaded) this part of the world and tried to discredit the local deities.

Here is a statue of Pan, take away the pipes and give him a trident and pointy tail and oh dear its bad press time for the poor little feller and his family members.

Hell, my gob is still hanging open as I'm typing. When I saw this picture I thought that they were definetly taking the pi** this time. I mean EVERYONE knowst this picture, its very old and has been chewed to death on various websites. I am very amazed that they didn't recognise it.
This month [bad] pictures are the worst ever. Not one is even remotely interesting. Yaaaawn :nooo:
 
ghoststudy seems prepared to show any old crap and fake they get submitted. i find it odd they have a page of caught "fakes" when most if not all of the content is faked and manufactured.

i mean how many times do i have to read "no its not a camera strap" its getting ridiculous. mind you by adding all kinds of assorted tripe they do get quite a bit of traffic from it, maybe the publishing policy is revenue based?
 
Hmm.. the real spooks must've gotten annoyed with the fake ones stealing their thunder.. GhostStudy appears to be (possibly temporarily) no more..

That's a shame, there was some good wheat amongst the chaff on there. The only problem is(was) wading through orb/smoke pictures and obvious fake ones to find them!
