Giant Human Skeleton Discoveries

Giant human skeleton found in Saudi Arabia

Recently gas exploration is going in the desert of south east region of Saudi Arabia. This desert region is called Empty Quarter, which means in Arabic "RAB - UL -KHAALEE"; this body has been found by ARAMCO exploration team. This proves what Allah SWT said in QURAN about the people of AAD nation and HOOD nation.

They were so tall, wide and very power full that they were able to pull out big trees just with the one hand. But what happen after when they become misguided and disobeys Allah SWT, Allah SWT destroyed the whole nation. ULEMA KIRAM of Saudi Arabia believes that this body belongs to AAD nation.

Saudi military took over this whole area. And nobody is allowed to go in this region except Saudi ARAMCO personnel's. Saudi government has kept it very secret but some military helicopters took pictures from air. And one of them he runs on internet here in Saudi Arabia.

Cool pic!

The article reads like this is some Islamic fundamentalist attempt to provide evidence backing up the Koran. I guess Muslim literalists operate much the same way Christian literalists do.

I am unfamiliar with The New Nation . How reputable are they? WWN? Pravda? Annanova? New York Times?

So, conversely, are there anti-Christian groups that delibrately submit the "Springfield Angel" to the WWN? I'd hate to think that I was supporting somebody else's agenda, even indirectly!

ROFLMAO the only scary thing about this is that there's people out there who are going to believe it.

You have to admit, though, the picture catches your attention.

At first glance its one of the best of that sort of thing I've seen in a while... Can anyone translate the covering story into English for me?

Not sure if this is the best thread on which to post this, but the title seemed to fit.

Anomalously large human skeletons found in the border region between Ecuador and Peru.

We're not talking Photoshopped giant type hoaxes or even Robert Wadlow size, but at between 7 and 8 feet, these skeletons, if indeed they are genuine, would be anomalously tall for Amazonian people living some 600 years ago.

The source is an English language website for expats.

The story was originally published on that website in 2015, the linked article is a straight repost dating to 2018. All the web searches I’ve just done have been taken straight from this with no follow up. :(

Yes. I was unable to find any follow-up analysis that added anything concrete to the report.
The fact that the skeletons' dimensions were not utterly outlandish though and that there was no annoying and obfuscating religious baggage with this report, made me consider it as somewhat more plausible than most claims.

Agreed which is why it is so frustrating there is nothing else five years later.

I can’t even find any articles authored by so called anthropologist Russell Dement.

I couldn’t find anything relating to him on Google Scholar
If Freie Universität are involved they are keeping very, very quiet about it..

On my search engine, apart from the skeleton story, the only Russel DeMent I can find is a dynasty of lawyers from the US.

Plus it seems rather odd to talk about being very careful to get the research correct before publishing anything. Then publishing it on the internet.

Yes I found the lawyers and five years and not even a picture!

The story is discussed here on Graham Hancock's website. Doesn't add much, except to remark on the proximity to the Tayos cave (of Von Däniken fame).

I followed up a fascinating snippet from the Cuenca Highlife article about a German anthropologist getting his head shrunk on a head-shrinking fact finding expedition (to be continued on the shrunken head thread https://forums.forteana.org/index.php?threads/shrunken-heads.49783/) and it appears to be bogus too since I can't find it or the anthropologist anywhere else. Interestingly the head is said to be in a museum at Freie Universität. I am beginning to suspect the writer had a disappointing experience there and is determined to try and bring them into disrepute.

I sense a new Fortean catchphrase emerging, to describe something of questionable provenance: "Oh it's probably been sent to FU Berlin!"

RE: The 2004 Saudi Arabia story ...

I originally found this at http://www.museumofhoaxes.com/ Which says it was passed to New Nation by an Anti-Moslem group that deliberatly tries to hoax Moslem Newspapers

For the record ... Here's the specific link to the Museum of Hoaxes record and the text therein ...
Giant Skeleton Unearthed

A remarkable photograph reveals archaeologists unearthing a massive (and when I say massive, I mean massive... we're talking a 50-foot behemoth here) skeleton at a site in Saudi Arabia. Of course, the Saudi military is keeping this all very hush, hush. The public couldn't handle knowing about such a remarkable discovery. If you get your news from The New Nation, 'Bangladesh's Independent News Source,' you might think this was an actual piece of news. But of course, it's totally false. The picture comes from a Worth1000 photoshop contest. The original, undoctored source of the image was a Cornell-sponsored dig of a mastodon in New York. Somehow the picture escaped into the alternative reality of email, accompanied by a bogus caption claiming that the picture was taken in Saudi Arabia, etc., etc. Apparently The New Nation received this email (forwarded to them from an anti-Muslim group that takes it upon itself to hoax Muslim papers) and fell for it hook, line, and sinker. The historically minded will note the long-standing popularity of Giant hoaxes, going all the way back to the 18th century where we find Commodore Byron's tales of Patagonian Giants, or the amazing popularity of giants, such as the Cardiff Giant, in the 19th century.
