Suggestions About Re-Organisation: Move & Merge Requests

All 3 of these threads pertain to the decreasingly mysterious Indus Valley culture of yore, and I recommend they be merged ...

Computers Unlock Secrets Of The Indus Valley Script

The Indus People

NOTE: If the merged thread contains the label associated with the 1st thread listed above, please be sure to correct the spelling to 'Harappan'.

We have 3 threads dedicated to the phenomenon of perceiving '3 knocks':

The older / larger one is:

Three Knocks
http://forum.forteantimes.com/index.php?threads/three-knocks.22376/

The newer / smaller one is:

The Three Knocks
http://forum.forteantimes.com/index.php?threads/the-three-knocks.63795/

There's a 3rd one, which is the oldest:

CLASSIC ARCHIVE MERGED: The Knock
http://forum.forteantimes.com/index.php?threads/classic-archive-merged-the-knock.765/

I'd recommend these be merged.

Next step ...

Post #8 in the former (older; larger) thread above states that 3 knocks are claimed to be a 'forerunner' event predictive of a death, and it cites an earlier FTMB thread on such 'forerunners'.

As far as I can tell, the forerunner thread to which post #9 refers is this one:

Forerunners predicting death
http://forum.forteantimes.com/index.php?threads/forerunners-predicting-death.21695/

However, this forerunner thread doesn't mention knocks.

As a result, I'm agnostic as to whether this third thread should be considered for merging with the ones dedicated to knocking.

Will attempt to clear the backlog of requests this weekend. Apologies.

All IHTM.

There may come a day when we start merging those, but for the moment they are off the menu.

The reason is that we want new posters to feel they can stake a little claim to the place, set up their own thread and have a space to tell their own story without it being subsumed into others.

Perhaps--in the future--some cross-links between themed IHTM threads (I can edit them into the initial posts) might prove a remedy.

All done--and note noted.

1. Done.
2. Not Done--that's a classic case that requires its own thread.
3. Done.
4. Left separate--not enough overlap for my liking.
5. All done and the product renamed.

This one, however, is legit I'd say, so I've merged them. As Yith says though, generally we keep IHTM separate.
