How to join a UK investigation group?

We are an amateur couple interested in the scientific investigation of the paranormal inspired by the US TV show Ghost Hunters. We have both had our own experiences but until we saw this show had no idea that it was possible to actually go out and do investigations and research that might help us understand our respective experiences.

Could anyone in the UK (particularly in the East Anglia region where we are) point us in the direction of a group that might be able to help us or, if not, advise us on how to start doing our own investigations and how best to credibly ask permission to investigate a potential site? We've Googled for UK paranormal groups but so far most sites we find have closed down, some due to lack of interest.

I know this sounds a bit amatuerish but we don't know how else to put it or how else to start. Thank you.

It might sound trite but if you can't find a suitable - close - group for you, then you could form one.

All you need is a gathering of like-minded folk like yourselves, a general idea of what you want to do/achieve and an agreed form of organisation. Unfortunately, organising Forteans is like herding cats ... possible but somewhat daunting. Since East Anglia is a fruitful location for such matters, it'd be worth your efforts - but you must decide how much effort you wish to put into the thing.

However, there may be several groups around but not with a "big" internet presence.

Here's some guys that appear to be in your area. seem active - and been going for 40 years! there's contact details at the bottom of the webpage, and they do the full house, hauntings, UFOs, U name its.
