Yesterday it quite literally rained all day - I waited all day for a respite so I could go to the supermarket, I didn't go as there was no respite. Big thunderstorms around midnight the last two nights. It's a typhoon in its way past, not too close but close enough. Today it pissed it down too, but with breaks.
27 degrees Celsius and clear weather outside! In ye olde days the autumn would have started and temperatures between 8-15 deg. Celsius would have beeen normal. I can remember it snowing on September 6th, 22 years ago.
There's a typhoon headed up the west coast of the peninsula, due to make landfall in North Korea on Saturday evening. According to current projections, it's going to pass closely enough to bring torrential rain and tree-ripping winds to my neck of the window at around lunchtime tomorrow--but there's still plenty of time for deviation.
A good number of flights are being cancelled right now.
Typhoon still going, but it peaked about two hours ago. Streets are deserted (I walked home from work and couldn't use my umbrella because of the strength of the gusts) and it looks like autumn, only with green leaves littering the ground, not brown.
A few smaller trees uprooted on my street and a ludicrously parked Audi is now a funny shape with a huge rusty sign from the 70s embedded in its roof.
Spring. Very! Three days of clear and sunny with cold nights so far. A full week of same with 20s temps to come. Making hay (fever). Lots to do shifting and prepping a house by myself. Taking hayfever attacks in stride, but man they suck. I mean look at that eye. Now that's just not right.
^ You do get to tune into it, don't ya. I'm a very seasonal-minded soul these days in my decrepitude.
I've watched it all go about 48 times. There's a change in the air which I can totally twig to now. The wetty air has suddenly gone to dry with buzzy bugs, and the birdsong has changed. The plants are obviously the first to show it, but I'm aware of so many aspects these days. Today, in my experience, winter ended.
