I live in Ealing and work in Northwood,Middlesex. It was 1 degree when I was scraping the windscreen at 5a.m and went up to about 12-13 degrees at about 10a.m

I walked to the local convenience store for a bottle of red wine, about an hour ago. Lights were on but the door was locked.

They are normally open until ten but the lockdown has bitten again. I'll give the Stroganoff another day in marinade.

No,not me. I’m one of those people who don’t feel the cold that much. It’s hot work being a postman, it’s got to be cold for me to wear a jacket on delivery.

Most posties I see wear shorts and not full-length trousers, even in winter. Is there a reason for this?

I think they try and out do each other by wearing shorts all year round. I’ve noticed a lot of people now,not only posties, who wear shorts all year. It’s become a common sight in this country.
