Thanks - it was bugging me. Does it need the large C? Seems superflous..
It took me a while to understand what you meant by the "large C". This is a very old optical illusion, dating back to the time when a decorative feather (e.g., on a hat or headband) was a common female fashion item.

Having said that ... I've never sensed that it adds anything to the basic illusion effect.

I have to say that if we just put one or two sensible boys in the girls' cohort, this would reflect my experience of teaching mixed-sex classes in almost any subject.


And no, asking them to do something more creative than marching doesn't help--it only makes the result more disastrous.
