Hustle

I watched most of this series (mainly because of the lovely Kelly Adams) and it was really rather good.

Thanks

Thanks for that. Don't know when we'll be seeing it over here, but we'll be looking out for it!

Just catching up with the new series...
Hustle - Series 6 - Episode 1

The Hustle gang are back in business, ready to take each and every cheat, liar or criminal for all they've got. From MPs' expenses to fat-cat bankers, there are plenty of marks for the team to target.

Just as the team are finishing with one genius con where Emma is posing as pop princess Kylie, Albert is out finding and priming the next unsuspecting mark - ex-banker Piggy Richardson who has been hounded by the press after a very public pension scandal. When Albert introduces himself as a head hunter for the Western Bank of California and paints a very pleasant picture of what his new life could be like, away from the glare of the media, Piggy is keen to meet Mickey - a currency specialist with a PHD in economics.

However, just as the plan starts to fall into place, a mysterious woman enquires about Mickey's whereabouts and throws their plan into disarray. Mickey hasn't got a clue who she is or what she wants but when she invites him out for dinner, he's intrigued. That is until the mystery lady turns out to be the beautiful, DCI Lucy Britford. She has a 95% conviction rate and is well aware of what Mickey and the crew are up to and catching Mickey would be the ultimate scalp and a great stepping stone in her career. Emma is the only one who seems worried, but is this jealousy due to another woman getting Mickey's attention, or genuine concern?

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Mickey is certain that he can outsmart Britford, after all, no one's managed to catch him yet! So with the agreement of the team he decides to continue with the con. Mickey's confidence has so far served the team well, but will his arrogance be the undoing of the con and his crew?

Absolutely brilliant! All the fun of a good con, plus the added interest of the sexy DCI on Mickey's case....

This has to be one of the funniest and most intelligent programmes on TV. :D

It lost a bit of its shine when Don Beech's daughter left but the cons are still pretty good when I'd have thought they might be struggling to come up with good ones and they can always spice things up a little by keeping it up to date (so now we have them putting the boot into bankers - which they also did a bit in Spooks but I can imagine this will be a bit more brazen about it, and good on 'em).

Just watched the latest one: all the usual stuff (drama, cons, humour, etc) plus SEX!

But all done in the best possible taste! ;)

(Doesn't seem to be on iPlayer yet, but keep looking...)

EDIT: It's there now

Drama series about a group of con artists.

Just as the gang are about to close another successful deal, a cruel twist of fate reveals one of the marks to be an undercover police officer. It seems the team might be in a spot of bother.

Mickey and the team are arrested and unceremoniously thrown in the slammer. Things look like they have gone from bad to worse when Nigel Chambers and the beautiful Jennifer Hughes from MI6 arrive to question Mickey. The pair has a proposition for him and, unfortunately for Mickey, these two don't play by the book.

Jennifer has an ulterior motive, she is friends with a certain DCI Lucy Britford who was conned by the team and has a score to settle. MI6 are willing to offer the team a pardon if they do a little job for them in return. The target is the National Bank of Syria and the heist is the unknown contents of a security box. The reward for the team is their freedom plus as much cash as they can carry from the vault.

With no choice but to agree, Ash sets about trying to find a way in, however the bank has as much security as Fort Knox, which means that Sean and Emma are also going to need to find a way in on the inside as well.

The team need to go the extra mile to pull this off and it seems that even Mickey can't charm his way out of this one.

Just as entertaining, "The Real Hustle" and its international spinoffs!

The Real Hustle Around the World

Robert Webb takes an entertaining look at the six different countries that have made their own versions of the hit show The Real Hustle. Featuring the best and worst scams from Russia, America, Israel, Belgium, Germany and Australia.

New series starts tonight, 2100, BBC1:
Series 7, Episode 1

The Hustle team return for another series, ready to con society's most greedy and part them from their hard-earned cash. Mickey and his team have a wealth of potential marks lined up, but when Eddie's niece gets scammed by ruthless modelling agent Wendy Stanton they put all that on hold to come to the rescue. Wendy is the ultimate ice-queen, and the team will need an ambitious plan to get her to pay out. With modelling shoots, lifestyle coaches and even a meeting at the Diplomatic Office of America, could this be the gang's toughest con yet? With Adrian Lester, Robert Vaughn, Robert Glenister, Kelly Adams, and Matt Di Angelo.

The current series has been OK, but lacking the dramatic bite of previous episodes.

However, tonight's offering is up there with the best:
American casino owner and infamous grifter-buster Marcus Wendell is in town, and Albert has an old family score to settle. The team set upon a plan to sell Marcus a rigged roulette wheel, but this is no ordinary challenge; Marcus knows who they are, and even what they plan to con him on. Can the team really beat the world's most unconnable mark, or is this challenge set to be their last?
