Is Elvis Still Alive?

Elvis (okay shoot me for bringing this one up)

Hello everybody,

I know I'm going to get shot for bringing this one up but I never took the subject the slightest bit seriously since I read an interesting article recently.

A few months ago a friend showed me this website discussing whether elvis faked his own death or not, it mentioned trouble with the mafia as a motive and gave a list of facts about how numerologists pointed out coincidences about the day he died and about the photo of his body being a waxwork which nearly melted and even more bizarre coincidences about the spelling of his name on his gravestone???

I'm new to this subject so is there any substance to it??

thanks

Chris

Goodness gracious............

Somewhat vague Mr Baker.....any chance you got the web sight address................any more details?

Interesting web site - nearly had me convinced there for a mo' what with Elvis faking his death to achieve spritual oneness as a yogi and all.
But what's this I see? The similarities between Elvis and Jesus are too close for comfort - I'm sold, Elvis lives!!!
;)

Hmm. Hate to poo-poo a good Elvis siteing story. But let's face it. Elvis was a bloated "perscription" drug addict who died on the shitter.

Welcome to reality. ;)

... in a big nappy, lest we forget.

And there was me thinking he went off to live in Atlantis with Lord Lucan and Shergar:)

The whole "cult" of Elvis is a fascinating subject though. How long before it's officially recognised as a religion? My bro's just come back from a trip to the US, which took in Gracelands, and he found the reverential nature of most of the visitors a bit creepy, like he was visiting a cathedral or shrine, rather than a house where a has-been rocker lived and consumed large amounts of narcotics and hamburgers. And they buried him in the back garden too!

Yes indeedie. The current reverence people show for Diana reminded me of the Elvis "religion". I do seem to remember some trying to create a "Church of Elvis" some years ago. Wish I was a Fortean then! Just last week I saw another Elvis story in a tabloid: "seen in Minnesota grocery store". Yikes!

Did you know Elvis bought all his furniture in just 30 minutes?

My husband used to be in an Elvis tribute band (sad, I know) and for research we sat through his vegas concert videos. If you ever see his last concert when this once handsome devil can barely move across the stage because he is so lardy and has to mop the sweat off of himself constantly you just know that this man will be buying the farm pretty soon. Elvis is not alive he is dead. Somebody told me that the Elvis estate do not allow that last concert to be shown as they want to peserve the image is that true I wonder........

church of elvis

Are we watching the elevation of a dead rock`n`roller into the giddy heights of Messiahdom. I think so! No other cultural icon has ever been as widely publicised before or since his death ( the conspiracies about his death only serve to embellish the Myth, true or not) I don`t think that it is an orchestrated attempt to create a Messiah, but with the face of elvis staring at you from your TV and your magazines and a host of churches of elvis sprouting up all over the world not just in America it seems as if it is the destiny of this story to become a biblical one, in the sense that it is a way of rejuvenating the jaded judeo-christians as the years slide into the mists of time and elvis` sins are forgotten eventually Las Vegas becomes the Vatican with the elvis character taking on modern ideas of morals and ethics, and who can foretell what those will be. I can see a serene buddha type posing statue standing tall over the casinos of Las Vegas welcoming the flock into the Casino confessionals to dispense their Microsoft dollars into one-armed preachers who will sanctify them by allowing them to lose those "In Elvis We Trust" decorated pieces of paper they clutch. This is I realise only the furthest extension of probability of this idea but it is fascinating to observe just what seems to be happening to the story of elvis. Has anyone else noticed that there isn`t a day goes by without some kind of Elvis reference whether direct or indirect permeating the media. Only famous world leaders and politicians receive anything like the coverage he receives(dead or alive)

Would this Buddha be seated on a toilet, by any chance, with a burger in one hand and a purple pill in the other?

There used to be 'sightings' of Hitler in S America, didn't there? They's stopped now because even a bogus Hitler would be dead by now. How old would Elvis be now? Around 60? Well then, be of good cheer me hearties, these 'sightings' will only continue for the next 30 years or so . . .

. . . unless, like 'The Boys from Brazil', we consider the possibility of cloning . . .:eek!!!!:

'Wanted: Elvis lookalikes for police identity parade'

In the Evening Standard (London) 9 October 2001, p.16:

DETECTIVES want Elvis Presley lookalikes for an identity parade in Surrey on 18 October. East Surrey police want eight people with a resemblance to the singer to line up with a suspect described as in his late 30s, 5ft 7in to 5ft 10in, with dark hair in a 1950s style. A police spokesman said: "The description we have sounds like Elvis, who knows, with all the supposed sightings we might get the real thing."

Elvis?...anyone know the origin or te name?...i only ask cos i found a nuns grave she was sister Elvis(!!!!!) ive asked two vicars so far with no luck..a prophet or somthing?...

Anyone heard the statistic that states that in 20 years time 1 in 3 people will be an Elvis impersonater?:D

I heard the same on a Discovery Channel advert (I think). It went somewhere along the lines of: "If the number of Elvis impersonators keeps growing at the current rate, then they will have taken over the world by 2020". Explains the sightings then. :p

My own view is that Elvis lives -

But is really p*ss*d off because they buried him

I wanna bring this thread back up to the top for poeple to see again. The origonal website provided good evidence yet no one on this thread actually addressed any of this. I'm not convinced of this Elvis conspiracy but it would be a shame for this thread to slip away with no proper discussion about it.

I read an article by some doctor claiming to be Elvis's GP, he took pics of the now old skinny star and told how elvis left the limelight so he could shapen up and get healthy again. aparently he wants to show the world hes not dead sometime this year, i dont know how much it can be believed but the article did show a picture of Elvis and it looked nothing like him. But aparently he had plastic surgeory so you never know.

I tried looking for the article but i couldnt find it, im sure i saw it on http://www.unknowncountry.com

Yeah, I remember that as well, I'm sure I've got that saved somewhere, I'm just looking. Well, we'll soon find out if she's right or not if she's garanteeing an apearence this year. Its worth noting that if Elvis did fake his death on a neumerically important date then you can predict that if he was gonna make a return it would also happen on a numerically important date... this year is the 25 anniversary of his 'death' and I'm sure 2002 would be an important number numerically as well.

on a related topic fans of the supposidly dead tupac are sure that he is going to reveal to the world soon that he faked his death altho i have seen some pretty convincing morgue pictures of Tupac with his chest cut open.

Tang> I've seen the tupac pics, too (Celebrity morgue, by any chance?), although I got more of a shiver by seeing the name "Whitley Strieber" on that link you gave :D

BTW, ppl wanting to know what Elvis meant - I replied to another thread stating that it meant "sage"...

Wise... Men... Say....

If I was going to fake my own death, I'd quite probably not chose to do so on the loo, wearing a big nappy.

Yeah thats where i saw the pic :) a good site but kinda morbid.

thanks for the links jack

this picture was the one i had seen earlier. Its hard to tell if it is him. It looks more like wurzel gummage :D

You're all invited to the 7th Annual "Elvis Is Dead?" party at my house on August 17.
(BYOB) Fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches provided......

I want to know why all Elvis impersonators always wear the white sequin suit. I mean, he wasn't at his best in those days was he?
Is it a conspiracy? (hurrah, spelt it write this time, doh!)
I think we should be told.

Elvis is Alive Pictures

I was reading the recent FT article on the cult of Elvis, and I found the picture that was (supposedly) taken of him in 1991 to be striking. It creeped me out for some reason - it's almost demonic in a way I can't quite put my finger on.
Anyway, are there any web resources which might collect pictures of this kind? I'd be keen on taking a look at a good quality image of the '91 picture for evidence of tampering.

Thanks.

I thought that one was good too; the one where he's at a wedding, and the one where he looks distinctly worse for wear both struck me as looking quite authentic. However, I haven't been able to find either of those pics on the net, or any serious sites about Elvis being alive (there are, of course, plenty of "Elvis lives!" sites.)
