There aren't enough stories of good people doing good things.
James Harrison passed away peacefully in his sleep in an Australian care home, aged 88.
A humble man, he is thought to have saved the lives of somewhere in the region of 2 million babies.
He spent his entire life donating blood, as much as he could healthily do to preserve the supply, because it contained high levels of a vital antibody that saved infant lives.
He started donating when he was 18 and continued until he was 81. His blood saved the lives of children with a rare immuno-disorder that saw as many as half diagnosed with the condition dying without his vital contribution.
James Harrison is a true hero.
