4 Episodes so far, I've only just started watching it, but it seems promising after just a few minutes!

It sounds like a somewhat-similar premise to the series 'Outlander' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlander_(TV_series) ...shades of 70s The Tomorrow People (and very Whovian).
