Fascinating. Bioluminescence of fungal mycelium. I had no idea that eg dragged tree-trunks could then leave a luminous trail.

The concept of fairy rings and toadstool caps actually glowing, in addition to any will-o'the-wisp effects, is very atmospheric.

Thanks for the 90yr old citation...
