As everyone, (including me) is nowadays on the hype of the brand new AI systems, I take advantage of that dispersion of the attention to release this post that know that is very controversial to the vision of magic that has been dominant from the beginning of the past century till today.
Well, nowadays state of the art magic thinking, postulates the total separation between mistic and magic seen from the side of the magicians the higher levels of magic are something completely separated and unrelated with the different religions mysticism,( if one can get any sense of the declarations of the magicians, cause as a book of Hegel or as a translated by google user manual of a microwave oven, uses to be completely unintelligible, and sometimes, voluntarily unintelligible, lol) magic would be a separated branch of the spirit an achievement of the human spirit, and of course unrelated with any religion. From the side of the mystics related with the religions, magic is seen as the limited, primitive and, ahem, a lot of times quite weird parent that they are all the time trying to avoid to contact, mostly to not to being related or compared with that.
What both sides are trying to hide is the title of this post, that in reality ma. Has been ever a part, and comes from the standard religions, and that mi. is basically the same experience that religious mysticism have, and that not only cant be separated, but are in reality the same experience.
Going more deep, on what we could call the engineering of the mistic. The perceptions of the magicians are related with colors mainly red and blue, so things appear to be colored on that kind of extramundane colors, in mystic things appear to be involved on a white light. Yes is true and one difference of perception in the basic level of that experiences, BUT, and a very important but, as the practitioners of that disciplines know that perceptions are configurable by the own practitioner, if desired can be changed from one to the other in any way. So the conclusion is that the cultural background of the practitioner is molding the way in which the experience is experienced.
That goes to the first point, if you can change from one to another is because both experiences are in its basic level THE SAME. A mix of physical biological interaction on a level that we really don't fully understand.
When I was younger I read an article of the contemporaneous English mystic Aldous Huxley ( yes mystic) it was called “ why are precious the precious stones? “ think that reading it now could give some lights on this question.
